Cambodia. "Holiday in Cambodia", from the album "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables", may be The Dead Kennedys' most famous song. It has been covered by many bands, including Richard Cheese, Laaz Rockit, Earth Crisis, and Sister Double Happiness.
West Virginia. These are lyrics from "Country Roads". In this song he also mentions the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah River.

Alabama. Robert Hunter wrote the lyrics and the late Jerry Garcia wrote the music. The first performance of "Alabama Getaway" was on November 4, 1979, at the Civic Center in Providence, Rhode Island. Bob Dylan covers this song.

Gladys Knight and the Pips. In October 1973, Gladys Knight and The Pips took "Midnight Train to Georgia" to number one on the Billboard charts. The songwriter, Jim Weatherly, wrote it as "Midnight Plane to Houston". The song title was changed when it was recorded by Cissy Houston, mother of Whitney Houston.
Ohio. The song is about the tragedy at Kent State University, where the National Guard tried to stop an anti-war demonstration in 1970, during the Vietnam conflict. Four students were killed.
