The Australian Grand Prix win went to Damon’s teammate for the day, Nigel Mansell. Where did Damon finish?Lady Luck and Damon Hill

Retired. Lady Luck was on someone else's side for this race. Schumacher started on second spot on the grid next to pole sitter Nigel Mansell and with Damon in third place. Schumacher took the lead with Damon right behind him. On lap 36, Damon was catching up to Schumacher who went off the track, hit the wall with his right wheels then pulled back onto the track. Damon had just come round the corner when Schumacher pulled across the track in front of him. On the next corner Damon was close enough to make try and make a pass on Schumacher. Schumacher turned in and collided with Damon. Schumacher was out of the race, but Damon tried to continue hoping to make it to the pit to repair his car. The front left suspension wishbone was damaged beyond repair and Damon had to retire from the race. With neither driver scoring points, Schumacher won the title in controversial circumstances by just one single point. Damon Hill would have to wait until 1996 to win his one and only Formula One world title, becoming the only son of a former world champion to win the title as well.
