Mahendra Singh Dhoni
7 July. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was born on 7th July 1981 in Ranchi. His nickname is "Mahi".
2004. He played his first ODI against Bangladesh on 23rd November 2004. He was the wicketkeeper-batsman of India.
2005. He played his first test match on 2nd December 2005 against Sri Lanka.
2007. His captaincy won India the inaugural World Twenty20 Championship in South Africa. Dhoni's men went on to win the Commonwealth Bank ODI series in Australia in 2008.
148. He struck 148 off 123 balls against Pakistan in 2005 which lead India (Dhoni wasn't captain at that time) to a score of 356-9. India won that match and Dhoni was the Man of the Match.
Jaipur. He made this 183 not out against Sri Lanka at Jaipur. Sri Lanka set India a target of 299 and MS Dhoni smashed 183* to lead his team to victory. It was the highest individual score by a wicket-keeper batsman.

Sri Lanka. The Idea Cup 2008 saw Dhoni's(as captain) first bilateral ODI series win. India had lost the test series but Dhoni and his men finished it with a victory in the Idea Cup 2008.
2008. He received the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in 2008 for making his team emerge victorious in the 2007 Twenty20 World Championship, and winning the Commonwealth Bank Odi series in 2008.

Ganguly was given captaincy by MS Dhoni for that final day. It was all on Ganguly to captain the team on the 5th day (10th November 2008) of the 4th Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Nagpur as this was Sourav Ganguly's last match in his career. Team India won that match and won the series 2-0.
