Toronto Argonauts
Cedric Minter. Minter rushed for 599 yards that season.
Carling O'Keefe. Carling O'Keefe owned the Argos from 1979-1989.
3. Terry Greer, Rick Mohr, and Carl Brazley were all named all-stars.
12-4. The Argonauts had the best record in the CFL that season.
British Columbia Lions. The Argonauts defeated the Lions 18-17 in front of a pro-Lion crowd in Vancouver. Joe Barnes threw a touchdown pass to Cedric Minter with a few minutes left to give Toronto the lead and eventual championship.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The Argonauts defeated the Tiger-Cats 41-36 in front of a big crowd at Exhibition Stadium.
Terry Greer. Terry Greer had over 2,000 receiving yards that season. Tolbert broke the 1000-yard mark. Pearson and Carinci, while dependable receivers, were not as prominent in the offense.
Condredge Holloway & Joe Barnes. Holloway and Barnes were an extremely potent duo at quarterback. If one was struggling, the coach usually did not hesitate to insert the other at quarterback.
Bob O'Billovich. Bob O'Billovich coached the Argonauts from 1982-1989 and from 1993-1995. Don Matthews coached the Argonauts in 1990, and from 1996-1998. Willie Wood coached the Argonauts in 1980 and part of 1981. Leo Cahill coached the Argos in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Exhibition Stadium. The Argonauts played at Exhibition Stadium from 1959 to 1988 before moving to Skydome. Prior to playing at the Ex, the Argonauts played at Varsity Stadium and Rosedale Field.
