Yankees 1990s
Kenny Rogers. On November 18, 1997, the Yankees traded Kenny Rogers to the A's for Brosius, which Brosius had an amazing year in the Yankees lineup batting 9th. He finished the season as the World Series MVP.
Mark Prior. The Yanks drafted Prior with the 43rd pick in the draft, but did not sign him.
4. Yankees traded Brian Buchanan, Cristian Guzman, Eric Milton, and Danny Mota for second baseman Chuck Knoblauch. They also sent cash along in the deal.
Alfonso Soriano. Although he played a combined 31 games in 1999 and 2000, Soriano's break out year was in 2001. His 40/40 season was in 2001, in his only year with the Washington Nationals.
3. Yankees traded speedest Homer Bush, reliever Graeme Lloyd, and David Wells to the Toronto Blue Jays for the Rocket in 1999.
Mike Lowell. Drafted by the New York Yankees in the 20th round of the 1995 amateur draft, Lowell was traded on February 1, 1999 for Mark J. Johnson, Ed Yarnall, and Todd Noel.
Padres. The Padres purchased Irabu in Janurary of 1997, but in May sent him to the Yankees in a trade which included Homer Bush and Ruben Rivera.
