true. Andy played Andy Thompson, the dean of Concord High School. It was not successful.
Greenwood, North Carolina. Greenwood was bigger than Mayberry but lacked Mayberry's charm.

Don Knotts (Barney). Don Knotts won five Emmys for his portrayal of Barney on "The Andy Griffith Show".
