"Racism does not compute". This sign is highly ironic, considering the number of racially motivated comments that occur in this study room.
Annie. In true Annie style, she is the first one to obey the teacher's orders. She was initially reluctant to join the class, as she wanted to learn things, but quickly changes her mind once Troy decides he will participate in the class.
She tells him to kiss her. Professor Whitman sees this and passes Jeff for seizing the day. He gives him an A+, as he knows a "life-changing kiss" when he sees one. Britta now feels that they are even.
A birthday cake. Shirley, as part of her homework for Whitman's class, thanks Hillary, the girl working, for making coffees, and tells her that she loves her. Whitman tears up the menu and orders a birthday cake, demonstrating how to seize the day.
Annie claims that Shirley's racist comment towards Muslims is the most racist thing she's ever heard. Jeff says Pierce will beat it in one minute. According to Jeff, how long does it actually take Pierce? | "Community" 1x03 - "Introduction to Film"
|
29 seconds. Troy tells Shirley that she's not his mother, to which Pierce interjects with "She's not?". This is one of Pierce's tamer racial remarks.
Since 2001. Abed states that "9/11 was pretty much the 9/11 of the falafel business." Abed's father wants him to take over and run the business.
Pierce, in his infinite wisdom of the technological age, attempts to use the voice command function of his cell phone. He repeats the phrase "Voice Command", hoping something will happen. Who of the group is the first to ask him to use the buttons? | "Community" 1x03 - "Introduction to Film"
|
Britta. Pierce replies with "Okay, Grandpa". It seems that his phone told him to say his voice command, and he interpreted it literally.
p. 37. The class is extremely confused by their professor's antics. They literally throw their books to the floor and are informed that their class motto is "Carpe diem", which is Latin for "seize the day".
Abed. Chang is highly unimpressed. He gives Pierce an F- and Jeff manages to scrape an F. Pierce has to clarify his mark, as he thinks Chang says "S".
Israel. Pierce is a very judgemental man. Jeff had previously commented on Pierce's heavy criticism of Israel, so it seems likely that he is insulting the nation in some way.
$100. This causes Jeff to feel guilty for the manner in which he treated Pierce. Though he first intends to let Pierce present their assignment by himself, he changes his mind, and they present together.
"Silence = Death". Jeff does not actually care about the cause, but wishes to show Britta that he cares enough about her to pretend to care about her "stupid" cause. Abed and Troy also join in the protest.
"To the empowerage of words". Jeff responds with, "To the irony of that sentence". Jeff is less than thrilled to have Pierce as his partner for their Spanish assignment. He would prefer to finish the assignment straight away, rather than using alcohol to procrastinate.
90%. Señor Chang has some very unorthodox teaching methods. He was not present in the pilot episode, and is portrayed by Ken Jeong.
Tardiness. Annie simply commented on Jeff's lack of punctuality. Even if Annie had used an offensive term, Pierce is hardly one to scold political incorrectness.
Gymnasium. The Dean announces that the perpetrator has "won a cruise", and must report to security to claim their prize.
The episode begins with an announcement from the Dean, making some corrections to the Fall class catalogue. How is "Astronomy" listed? | "Community" 1x02 - "Spanish 101"
|
Astrology. Astronomy is the study of space, including stars, planets, celestial objects, etc. It is basically the study of the entire universe. Astrology, however, is the pseudoscience behind horoscopes.
He has a sports coat. Jeff is upset that Duncan played him, and did not give him the test answers. Troy says that all he needs to do is "study for, like, an hour. It's not that hard. You seem pretty smart; you've got a sports coat."
Meningitis. All four options are infectious diseases. Meningitis is the inflammation of the meninges, which protect the brain and spinal cord. It has nothing to do with Asperger's Syndrome, which is a mental disorder.
Steve. Jeff does this in the middle of a speech to the rest of the group. These speeches become a recurring event throughout the series. The point of this speech is to show that people can see the good in everything but themselves.
Pierce, a self-proclaimed toastmaster, introduces the group to Jeff, getting most of their names wrong. What does he call Annie? | "Community" 1x01 - Pilot
|
Little Princess Elizabeth. Pierce is portrayed by Chevy Chase. He is known amongst the group for his sexually and racially provocative statements, and general political incorrectness.
His introductions name everyone as follows:
Britta - Brittles
Abed - Abed the Arab (though he mispronounces "Ah-Bed" as "Ay-Bed", which recurs throughout the entire series)
Troy - Roy the Wonder Boy
Annie - Little Princess Elizabeth
He correctly remembers Shirley's name, much to her disgust.
Pierce is accused of harassing Shirley. His defence is "Why would I harass someone ________?". What does he say? | "Community" 1x01 - Pilot
|
Who turns me on. Troy has to point out that that phrase in itself is harassment. Shirley does not welcome the sexual comments that Pierce frequently makes.
He was playing Bejewelled on his iPhone all class. Jeff claims to be a "Board Certified" Spanish tutor. This is, of course, a lie. Jeff created the study group to become sexually involved with Britta. Luckily for us, the study group developed into a close group of friends. If it didn't, we'd have no show.
Jeff asks Abed about "the hot girl from Spanish class". Abed said he only spoke to Britta once, while she was doing what? | "Community" 1x01 - Pilot
|
Borrowing a pencil. Jeff is portrayed by Joel McHale. Britta and Abed are portrayed by Gillian Jacobs and Danny Pudi respectively.
Priority registration. Jeff wakes up from his nap to find the campus in chaos. The dean announced that the winner of the paint ball game would win priority registration and the whole school turned on each other. Jeff ended up winning 2 prizes during the game as he finally hooked up with Britta during the game.
Who did the study group get fired and then subsequently get hired as the deep fryer cook? | "Community"- Season 1
|
Starburns and Abed. Delicious chicken fingers. This episode was a spoof on mobster films.
Pierce belongs to a Buddhist church. What level does he tell the group that he has achieved? | "Community"- Season 1
|
level 6 lazer lotus. Jeff and Troy play a prank on Pierce. They get a wizard's cloak and a wand with a cookie on the end and give it to him. Pierce goes along with the prank until he admits that he lied about being a level 6 to make himself sound cooler.
What does Jeff end up wearing when he plays the EPIC pool match against the PE teacher? | "Community"- Season 1
|
nothing. In the first class Jeff shows up wearing tight jeans and a leather jacket. He refuses to wear the required uniform of shorts because he doesn't think he looks cool in shorts. Later on, he challenges the teacher to a match while wearing the shorts and both players end up naked.
The Forest Whitaker eye. Jeff has never been in a fight and Troy and Pierce offer to give him some pointers and teach him how to fight.
Britta briefly dated a guy named Vaughn. Vaughn and Pierce were in a band together. What is the name of the band? | "Community"- Season 1
|
Some Worries. No Worries was the original band name, don't worry is just good advice and "What, me worry?" was a quote made famous by Alfred E. Neuman.
Harry Potter. Jeff was a sexy cowboy, Pierce was the Beastmaster, Troy was Eddie Murphy, Abed was Batman, Britta was a squirrel, and Annie was a sexy skeleton.
