He faked his suicide. After his first fake suicide, he ended up marrying his wife (the same one he had before) as Martin Wellborne (but she knew he was really Reggie). By the end of the series, everyone was faking suicide to start new lives.
Jimmy. Jimmy, Elizabeth's brother, always took food home with him when he visited his sister.
Ludwig van Beethoven. We learn this fact after Reggie holds the dinner party with no dinner.
Mark and Linda. Linda is married to Tom. Mark is an actor, and is rather fond of using Cockney rhyming slang.
He'd say he's got it worse and give them some aspirin. This is always what he said... except, apparently, he was very thorough when Joan was feeling 'chesty.'
His kids. Cockney rhyming slang: dustbin lids--kids. The conversation went like this: Mark: 'How are the dustbins doing?' Tom: 'Fine. Not as noisy as they used to be.' Mark: 'Well they're older.' Tom: 'No, we got new ones. They're plastic.' Tom obviously didn't understand.
