      A tapeworm. Kelly says, "I swallowed a tapeworm last night. It's going to grow up to three feet inside of me, and then it eats all of my food so that I don't get fat. And then after three months, I take some medicine, and then I pass it. Creed sold it to me. It's from Mexico." Creed then reassures us what he sold her wasn't really a tapeworm.

    Pam is leaving for art school in New York. Michael almost misses her departure and tumbles down the stairs to catch her, but forgets to bring the poem he wrote in her honor. He can only remember the last word. What is it?"The Office" -- Season 5, "Weight Loss"

      Seagulls. As Pam starts to drive off, Jim gives her a last kiss. Michael tries to get one too, but is firmly yet politely rebuffed. We may never get to hear the poem now.

    During the episode "Company Picnic" there is a sports tournament going on between the different branches of Dunder Mifflin. What sport are the branches playing?"The Office" (US) Season 5

      Volleyball. While at the company picnic various things are being done like a volleyball tournament between the different branches and skits by their different people. While competing in the volleyball tournament the Scranton branch makes it all the way to the championship game. Pam Beesly, the receptionist, is the star player for the Scranton team. Pam said this to the camera "Maybe I played a little in junior high. And in high school. Maybe a little in college. And went to volleyball camp most summers!" In the championship match the Scranton team is play the corporate squad. During the match Pam falls on her ankle, and she gets back up and wants to continue playing. Charles, insists that she should go to the doctor because the injury is a company liability. Jim then rushes Pam to the nearest hospital and Dwight tries to stall. While being examined Jim is called in and then he leaves the room telling Dwight to put the subs in. Later in season six it is revealed that Pam is pregnant.

    Dunder Mifflin hires a new company vice president in the appropriately titled episode "New Boss". What is the first name of the new boss?"The Office" (US) Season 5

      Charles. The new vice president is Charles Miner. Charles doesn't like it when people goof-off around the office. This causes tension between Michael and Charles, and causing each other to dislike one another. Jim who dresses in a tuxedo the first time Charles sees him, isn't liked very well by Charles as well. Michael who by the end of the episode cannot take it anymore, drives to New York, NY to meet with David Wallace. Michael and David argue and Michael tells David that he quits.

    In the episode "Golden Ticket" Michael steals a trick from "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." He places five golden tickets in five separate paper boxes. One customer calls telling the Scranton branch they have all five tickets. What company found all five tickets?"The Office" (US) Season 5

      Blue Cross of Pennsylvania. In the beginning of the episode Michael is shown placing five golden tickets in separate boxes in the warehouse. Little did he know that they were all in the same shipment to Blue Cross of Pennsylvania. Each ticket is 10% of the shipment of paper. One day an employee of Blue Cross calls Jim telling him they have all five. They have to give them the discount and this is their biggest client. David Wallace, Dunder Mifflin CFO, comes into town. Michael thinks he is going to be fired and convinces Dwight to take the blame. It ends up being that Blue Cross was so excited they signed Dunder Mifflin as their primary provider of paper. Michael becomes mad because David doesn't believe that the golden ticket idea was his creation. Michael tries to get Dwight to tell the truth, but David Wallace leaves while they are arguing.

    The Scranton branch gives blood in the episode entitled "Blood Drive." While giving blood Michael sees a girl he likes. After she leaves Michael notices she left a piece of clothing behind. What article of clothing did she leave?"The Office" (US) Season 5

      A Glove. Michael takes the glove and puts up flyers around town with a picture of the glove on it. With that he hopes she'll come to the "Lonely Hearts Party" that he is having at the office. He's having this party since this is the first Valentine's Day after he and Holly split up. She ends up not coming and Michael is depressed and the rest of the worker's stay and comfort him.

    While Michael and Dwight are gone during the episode "Prince Family Paper", the office is debating whether a celebrity is hot or not. Which celebrity are they arguing over? "The Office" (US) Season 5

      Hillary Swank. After Michael and Dwight have left on a mission from corporate, the rest of the office breaks out into an argument about whether Hillary Swank is hot. Jim led the "she is hot" team, while Oscar led the "she is not hot" team. The office was in a dead tie for the whole day, with some workers swayed back and forth between sides, but ending up staying where they originally were. As Michael is returning they go back to their seats. As Michael is going into his office, he sees the picture of Hillary Swank on the wall, and comments to himself that she is hot. Jim celebrates quietly in the background.

    In the tenth episode of season 5, "The Surplus", the Scranton branch has discovered a surplus. The workers either want a new copier or new chairs, and Michael wants to turn the surplus in for a bonus. Which do they end up choosing?"The Office" (US) Season 5

      New Chairs. For the whole day Michael tries to decide which one to choose. He even brings in the security guard to choose, but eventually kicks him out for taking too long. Near the end of the day Michael finds out that he can turn the surplus into corporate and get a bonus. He then tells the branch that they don't need anything, then Oscar notices that he found out about the bonus. The office is in disarray and Michael gives them an ultimatum, the day is about over and they have to come to a decision before 5 o' clock. Michael leaves the room thinking, they won't decide what to get, when Oscar comes in saying they chose to get new chairs instead of nothing.

    In the episode "Employee Transfer" Dwight, to get back at Andy, attempts to apply to Andy's alma mater. Where did Dwight apply to?"The Office" (US) Season 5

      Cornell University. Cornell was where Andy went to college. Dwight shows up at wearing various forms of Cornell merchandise, which angers Andy a lot. He ends up calling the Cornell Admissions to get permission to interview Dwight. In the interview Andy asks Dwight a few questions and Andy writes negative comments about him. Dwight and Andy start getting in a verbal argument, in which Dwight announces he is now deciding to apply to Dartmouth at the end of the interview.

    In the episode "Crime Aid" the office's supplies are stolen overnight. Michael starts up an auction to gain money to buy the items that were stolen. What item does Michael claim he has to auction off?"The Office" (US) Season 5

      Bruce Springsteen tickets. The title of the auction was "C.R.I.M.E. A.I.D." It stood for "Crime Reduces Innocence, Makes Everybody Angry, I Declare." Several items were auctioned off such as yoga lessons with Holly Flax, a weekend at Martha's Vineyard, and a hug from Phyllis. The one item that everyone wants is the Bruce Springsteen tickets. As it comes time for them to be auctioned of Michael claims that they were stolen in the robbery, but to Holly he tells her that he never had the tickets. The most successful item of the auction was Phyllis' hug, which went for $1,000.

    In the episode "Baby Shower" Michael has two bowls of M&M's with a boys name on one bowl and a girl's name on the other. On the boy's bowl Michael had the name "Chevy" put on them. What name did Michael put on the girls bowl?"The Office" (US) Season 5

      Astird. Jan Levinson, Michael's ex-girlfriend, became pregnant and Michael was throwing a baby shower for her. If the baby was a boy it was to be name "Chevy" if it was a girl then her name would be "Astrid." Michael incorrectly writes down the name as "Astird." When Jan shows up for the shower it turns out that she has already had the baby. It was a girl and called "Astrid." Michael tries to have the baby shower anyway, but none of the games can be played since the baby was already born. The Scranton branch ends up listening to Jan sing to her baby for most of the shower.

    The first episode of the season, "Weight Loss" dealt with Dunder Mifflin offering more vacation days to the branch that loses the most weight during a certain period of time. Does the Scranton branch win the extra days?"The Office" (US) Season 5

      No. The Scranton branch starts out thoroughly enjoying the competition, but soon starts to hate it. Some members of the branch take extreme measures just to lose weight. Kelly Kapoor for instance drinks maple syrup, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and water for all three meals each day until corporate sent out a memo telling everyone to stop extreme dieting. Even though they do lose the competition, Stanley Hudson still takes the five days off.

    In the episode "Cafe Disco" Michael uses the old room, where the Michael Scott Paper Company used to operate, as a dance room. At first no one comes to Cafe Disco, but soon they all start coming. Which office worker throws their back out while dancing?"The Office" (US) Season 5 [2]

      Phyllis Vance. As Michael opens Cafe Disco up no one comes, so he tries playing various dance songs to try and sway the office workers to come in and dance. While not dancing in Cafe Disco someone could drink and socialize. Phyllis is the first attendee of Cafe Disco. Very quickly she throws her back out. Dwight brings her into the conference room to massage her. He says in an interview with the cameras that he usually gives to massage that he is giving to Phyllis, to horses that are injured. While being massaged Phyllis starts talking about how she thinks that Bob Vance is cheating on her, but then disregards it. Soon the massage is over and Phyllis returns to Cafe Disco once more, to dance with Bob Vance.

    In the episode "Broke" the Michael Scott Paper Company is bought out by Dunder Mifflin. Michael asks that they all get their jobs back, but with Ryan in sales. What type of job does Michael ask for Pam to be put as?"The Office" (US) Season 5 [2]

      As a saleswoman. As the Michael Scott Paper Company continues to steal the clients of Dunder Mifflin, they find out that at the rate their going they'll be broke very soon. Meanwhile, Dunder Mifflin is trying to buyout the Michael Scott Paper Company, not knowing that they are soon to be broke. David Wallace comes to Scranton to initiate the buyout. Pam, Michael, and Ryan all meet with David to reach an agreement on a buyout. Soon they reach one in which they all get jobs at Dunder Mifflin. This time with Pam and Ryan both being put into sales.

    In the episode "Dream Team" the office finds out that Charles has a passion for soccer. The office, wanting to suck up, starts talking about soccer with Charles. Which male office worker claims he plays soccer?"The Office" (US) Season 5 [2]

      Jim Halpert. Andy is the first to find out that Charles has a fascination with soccer. Andy then makes a slideshow of soccer pictures and watches them as Charles approaches. Charles notices and starts to talk about it with Andy. The next time we see Charles he and the whole Scranton branch, except for Jim, are talking about soccer. Charles then asks Jim if he is a big fan of soccer, Jim says that he plays. Dwight, noticing that Jim is lying, sets up a game for later in the day. While they are playing Charles kicks the ball at Jim's face. Jim ducks and the ball hits Phyllis in the face. Charles, provoked by Dwight's mocking, yells at Jim for what he did.
