The Scranton branch starts out thoroughly enjoying the competition, but soon starts to hate it. Some members of the branch take extreme measures just to lose weight. Kelly Kapoor for instance drinks maple syrup, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and water for all three meals each day until corporate sent out a memo telling everyone to stop extreme dieting. Even though they do lose the competition, Stanley Hudson still takes the five days off.
2. In the episode "Baby Shower" Michael has two bowls of M&M's with a boys name on one bowl and a girl's name on the other. On the boy's bowl Michael had the name "Chevy" put on them. What name did Michael put on the girls bowl?

Answer: Astird

Jan Levinson, Michael's ex-girlfriend, became pregnant and Michael was throwing a baby shower for her. If the baby was a boy it was to be name "Chevy" if it was a girl then her name would be "Astrid." Michael incorrectly writes down the name as "Astird." When Jan shows up for the shower it turns out that she has already had the baby.

It was a girl and called "Astrid." Michael tries to have the baby shower anyway, but none of the games can be played since the baby was already born. The Scranton branch ends up listening to Jan sing to her baby for most of the shower.

Several items were auctioned off such as yoga lessons with Holly Flax, a weekend at Martha's Vineyard, and a hug from Phyllis. The one item that everyone wants is the Bruce Springsteen tickets.

As it comes time for them to be auctioned of Michael claims that they were stolen in the robbery, but to Holly he tells her that he never had the tickets. The most successful item of the auction was Phyllis' hug, which went for $1,000.

Cornell was where Andy went to college. Dwight shows up at wearing various forms of Cornell merchandise, which angers Andy a lot. He ends up calling the Cornell Admissions to get permission to interview Dwight. In the interview Andy asks Dwight a few questions and Andy writes negative comments about him. Dwight and Andy start getting in a verbal argument, in which Dwight announces he is now deciding to apply to Dartmouth at the end of the interview.

He then tells the branch that they don't need anything, then Oscar notices that he found out about the bonus. The office is in disarray and Michael gives them an ultimatum, the day is about over and they have to come to a decision before 5 o' clock. Michael leaves the room thinking, they won't decide what to get, when Oscar comes in saying they chose to get new chairs instead of nothing.

The office was in a dead tie for the whole day, with some workers swayed back and forth between sides, but ending up staying where they originally were.

As Michael is returning they go back to their seats. As Michael is going into his office, he sees the picture of Hillary Swank on the wall, and comments to himself that she is hot. Jim celebrates quietly in the background.

Little did he know that they were all in the same shipment to Blue Cross of Pennsylvania. Each ticket is 10% of the shipment of paper. One day an employee of Blue Cross calls Jim telling him they have all five.

They have to give them the discount and this is their biggest client. David Wallace, Dunder Mifflin CFO, comes into town. Michael thinks he is going to be fired and convinces Dwight to take the blame.

It ends up being that Blue Cross was so excited they signed Dunder Mifflin as their primary provider of paper. Michael becomes mad because David doesn't believe that the golden ticket idea was his creation. Michael tries to get Dwight to tell the truth, but David Wallace leaves while they are arguing.
9. Dunder Mifflin hires a new company vice president in the appropriately titled episode "New Boss". What is the first name of the new boss?

Answer: Charles

The new vice president is Charles Miner. Charles doesn't like it when people goof-off around the office. This causes tension between Michael and Charles, and causing each other to dislike one another. Jim who dresses in a tuxedo the first time Charles sees him, isn't liked very well by Charles as well. Michael who by the end of the episode cannot take it anymore, drives to New York, NY to meet with David Wallace. Michael and David argue and Michael tells David that he quits.
10. During the episode "Company Picnic" there is a sports tournament going on between the different branches of Dunder Mifflin. What sport are the branches playing?

Answer: Volleyball

While at the company picnic various things are being done like a volleyball tournament between the different branches and skits by their different people. While competing in the volleyball tournament the Scranton branch makes it all the way to the championship game. Pam Beesly, the receptionist, is the star player for the Scranton team. Pam said this to the camera "Maybe I played a little in junior high. And in high school. Maybe a little in college. And went to volleyball camp most summers!" In the championship match the Scranton team is play the corporate squad. During the match Pam falls on her ankle, and she gets back up and wants to continue playing. Charles, insists that she should go to the doctor because the injury is a company liability. Jim then rushes Pam to the nearest hospital and Dwight tries to stall.

While being examined Jim is called in and then he leaves the room telling Dwight to put the subs in. Later in season six it is revealed that Pam is pregnant.
