Interesting Questions, Facts, and Information
Call of Duty 1
In the British level where you are waiting for your squad to steal a plane and you have to hold off Stukas, what type of plane are they stealing? | 'Call Of Duty'
|
FW-200 Condor. The Condor was a German transport plane. It says this is the plane on the briefing. The C-47 was the military version of the civilian DC-3. The Me-323 was a huge German glider that could be fitted with six engines to fly under its own power, when it was re-designated the Me-326. The Bi-1 was an experimental Russian single seat rocket interceptor. Three were made, one exploded on a test flight, and none were ever used in combat.
What is the name of the gun that is side loading and has a scope? | 'Call Of Duty'
|
Fg42. This is my favourite gun. It has the power and distance of a rifle, and the rapid fire assault capabilities of a sub-machine gun. Snipe one enemy, then rapid fire to kill the next! Great!
Staying in multiplayer, in the map Pavlov, if you play Search and Destroy, what are the targets for destruction? | 'Call Of Duty'
|
Anti tank rifles. This is the only multiplayer map where the Allies have to defend in Search and Destroy.
In multiplayer, which map is not in the single player game at all? | 'Call Of Duty'
|
Carentan. All the other maps are in the single player game, even if they have made them smaller and blocked some areas off for multiplayer.
In the 'Stalingrad' mission where you land at the docks, the officer with the radio shouts that "That damn ... is coming back for another run! Open fire!" The what does he say is coming back? | 'Call Of Duty'
|
Stuka. The Stuka was a German dive bomber. Its real name was the Ju-87. A BF109 was the main German fighter in the war. An IL2 was a Russian ground attack aircraft, known as the Sturmovik. The Me-262 was the German twin engined jet fighter that was used to shoot down American B-17 formations. The only problem was that by the time it came into active service, the war was all but over!
In the 'Chateau' mission, when you are in the basement, Foley and Moody blow the doors with explosives. Looking directly at the doors as they plant the explosives, what side does Foley run to when he's finished? | 'Call Of Duty'
|
Left. He runs back towards you and swings into cover behind the wooden doors. It's excellent the way your Allies make use of cover like they would in real life.
In the American campaign, what is the name of the Captain who is with you on every mission? | 'Call Of Duty'
|
Captain Foley. There is a Sergeant Moody who accompanies you on several missions, but Foley is always there. If you are thinking "He's not in the 'Pathfinder' mission, is he?" He is right at the end, as you go into the trench.
What are the three countries that have campaigns in the game?
| 'Call Of Duty'
|
America, England and Russia. The game designers used the most well known Allied countries as playable. Others, like Canada and Australia, would also have made interesting campaigns.
The game advertises four campaigns. Who do you play as in the fourth campaign? | Call of Duty
|
All Three. The final campaign has three missions, one for each faction. The first two are for American and British forces in Belgium. The third mission, which is also the last mission of the game, is the Russian invasion of Berlin. Once you've beaten that, you can sit back and enjoy the credits while watching an amusing little animation.
In each of the primary campaigns there is a mission in which you ride a vehicle. Which do you not get to ride in? | Call of Duty
|
American Higgins Boat. In the American campaign you ride in a stolen French car which you have to shoot out of while Moody drives. In the British campaign, Price drives a stolen lorry (truck), out of which you shoot down German motorbikes, motorcars, and other lorries. In the Russian campaign, you actually get to drive a tank, and use its canons at the same time.
In the fourth campaign, what is it you're trying to disable? | Call of Duty
|
V2 Rockets. It's quite a trek to the German base, with quite a few objectives to complete on your way there. Once you get to the German base, you have to load the V2 rockets with fuel, because the explosives you have aren't strong enough on their own. Then just set the charges and leave. V2 Rockets were early missiles invented in late World War II by German scientists. They were not very effective, but were the predecessors to many modern missiles, and rockets that eventually led to putting man on the moon.
As a soldier in the Russian Red Army, what is your primary role? | Call of Duty
|
Sniper. In most Russian missions you use a Scoped Mosin-Nagant. The letters at the beginnig of each level normally refer to your character as a sniper. You are normally tasked with shooting out machine gunners hidden in old apartment windows, artillery crews, or other enemy riflemen trying to shoot your allies. THe nice thing about the Scoped Mosin-Nagant is that you can load five rounds into it at a time, unlike the Springfield and Scoped Kark98 which could oly be loaded one round at a time.
You get no weapon. In the first Russian mission, you start on a boat and you just have to wait out the speech that you are given while crossing over to German-held Stalingrad. Once there, you get handed a few rounds, but no gun to shoot them with. So you'll just have to make do with what you've got. The rest of the mission involves you running around while an ally sniper takes out targets hidden in broken apartment buildings.
What is the name of the battleship you board and sabotage in the British Campaign? | Call of Duty
|
Tirpitz. You start off in a small boat and approach the large ship. Captain Price talks to the Germans and gains access. Once below deck at the armory he pulls out a pistol and eliminates the two crewmen. You arm yourselves and set to work. Price will run off to do his own thing and leave you to deal with the horde of enemies on your own. When you get back to the boat, captained by Sergeant Waters, he'll inform you that the Germans got Price (who you rescued in the American campaign). Tirpitz was a real ship in Nazi service in World War II.
Lee-Enfield. This weapon is slow, but accurate and quite powerful. It's perfect for taking out difficult-to-hit enemies when advancing on their positions, such as the Pegasus Bridge. It can hold more rounds than any other rifle, with the exception of the American Carbine (but it's power is significantly weaker). It's a shame you never get to use a scoped version.
In the penultimate American mission, you have to infiltrate a German held chateau to rescue who? | Call of Duty
|
Captain Price. First, in this mission, you're to find any documents (which are located at the end of a long series of hallways and rooms), which is nothing new. Then you have to find the secret room and gain access to the basement levels of the chateau, where you'll find Captain Price and an empty cell where Major Ingram should have been (you'll rescue him in the next mission, though). Captain Price is one of the invincible characters who accompanies you in most British missions.
What is the name of the player character for the American campaign? | Call of Duty
|
Martin. Many of your fellow soldiers will yell at one another to perform certain tasks, and sometimes they'll call out to you. It's a good idea to know your player name so you don't miss anything important.
America, France, Germany, and Russia. These are the primary countries you'll be fighting in throughout the game. In the American campaign, your training mission is in America, and the rest is in France. The British fight in France and Germany, mostly, and the Russians get to fight in their home country, except for the last mission. There is also a pair of missions set in Belgium, and the final British mission is set on a battleship near Troms (Norway).
