Interesting Questions, Facts, and Information
Resident Evil 5
An actor from "Heroes" did motion capture work for "Resident Evil 5". Ken Lally portrayed a character called "The German" in the US series "Heroes". He provided the motion capture for "Albert Wesker" is "Resident Evil 5".
'Evil Spirit' and Swahili. Majinis serve as the general enemy in "Resident Evil 5". They are almost identical to the Ganados from "Resident Evil 4".
Kirk Mathison. Kirk Mathison helps you during the first chapter of "Resident Evil 5". However, his helicopter is shot down and Chris and Sheva discover his dead body later.
Flash Grenade and Stun Rod. Like "Resident Evil 4", the Flash Grenade kills Plagas instantly. Now you can also use the Stun Rod to kill them. This makes the Stun Rod a valuable piece of equipment, because unlike Flash Grenades, it can be used as many times as you like.
El Gigante. It is revealed in an in-game file that Ndesu was based off of El Gigante. El Giante appeared as a boss enemy in "Resident Evil 4".
Wipe those tears guys, I know it's the last question, but you've got to test your brains for this one! One of the big, bad scary-boss man creature things (no, I didn't go to Oxford) in 'Resident Evil 5' is named U-8. What does that 'U' stand for? | Welcome to Africa - 'Resident Evil 5'
|
Ultimate. Strangely enough, the 'U' doesn't stand for Uroboros, but for Ultimate. The same can probably be said of the boss U-3 in the previous game. Anyhoo, thanks for playing today, hope you enjoyed it!
Let's test a little bit of your 'Wesker' history now. Back when Chris Redfield and Albert Wesker were 'best friends for life in S.T.A.R.S.', what was Wesker's rank? | Welcome to Africa - 'Resident Evil 5'
|
Captain. Albert Wesker founded S.T.A.R.S. in 1996 and appointed himself Captain, before betraying his Alpha Team in the Arklay Mountains, who consisted of Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Barry Burton, and Rebecca Chambers. He injected himself with a virus on the brink of death, which granted him his new super-human ability.
At three points in the game you will come across the strange black tentacle monsters known as the 'Uroboros', 'Uroboros Aheri', and 'Uroboros Mkono'. Rather different from your average Majini. But I've always wondered - if both Majini and tentacle beast are infected by Uroboros, what's the difference? | Welcome to Africa - 'Resident Evil 5'
|
An Uroboros has been 'rejected' by the virus. Excella Gionne and Ricardo Irving are two characters to be 'rejected'. There is no explanation as to why some are chosen and some rejected.
Near the start of your adventure, you will be required to visit your good ol' weapon's dealer for a whole loada supplies. Sadly though, he suffered a cruel fate at the hands of the Majini. Not that you care, of course. I mean, do any of you even remember the poor guy's name? | Welcome to Africa - 'Resident Evil 5'
|
Reynard. Reynard gets decapitated in the middle of 1-1 by the Executioner Majnini. It is done in an ancient-sacrifice type manner, but not shown explicitly.
Players of the previous game were quite obviously distraught to say goodbye to lovable man-killer El Gigante. Don't get too depressed though, because he returns for another bout in 'Resident Evil 5'! With a beard! And a new name! Wait, what, what ... new name?! What would that be then? | Welcome to Africa - 'Resident Evil 5'
|
Ndesu. The Ndesu was one of the easier boss battles, with players having too mount a gatling gun to bring him down. He also had a brand new tribal look, with all his victims fashioned into a belt around his waist.
Kijuju doesn't exist. 'Resident Evil 5' was originally planned to have a real setting. However developers Capcom decided to create a fictional village because of the many racism claims over the game.
Majini. The Majini have the same characteristics as the Las Plagas in the last game. Their symptoms include increased aggression and strength.
Security. BSAA fully stands for Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance. It is used by the US government to target potential viral outbreaks.
The life-threatening, potentially world-ending virus this time around is a wonderful concoction called the 'Uroboros' virus, which is an advanced version of the p ... of the pr ... what was its name again? | Welcome to Africa - 'Resident Evil 5'
|
Progenitor virus. The 'Progenitor' virus was the first viral experiment conducted by Umbrella, and was the test for the T and G-Virus in later years. It is fairly weak compared to the likes of Uroboros and Las Plagas.
Jill (Battle Suit). Sheva (BSAA) also has the VZ61, but no grenades. Wesker (Midnight) and Chris(BSAA) have Hand Grenades, but no VZ61. Jill (Battle Suit) has a VZ61 with a 300 round capacity, which is very useful, since you don't have to reload a lot, and it holds two slots worth of MG ammo.
Experimental Facility. Lickers make their triumphant return since their debut in "Resident Evil 2". "Resident Evil 5" shows them as they were before the "Outbreak" series and the movies changed their formula.
Wesker. Wesker's attacks are called the Panther Fang, Cobra Strike, Tiger Uppercut, Jaguar Kick, Mustang Kick, Ghost Butterfly, Rhino Charge and Windfall. Wesker also features a dash attack, during which he can hurl his knee forward, killing any Majini standing in his way.
Double Knee Drop. Jill performs her Double Knee Drop attack. It is one of three attacks that has a 100% critical. Its a sure kill as long as the Majini doesn't sprout into a Cephalo.
In "Resident Evil 4", Mercenary HUNK showed his class by using his instant kill move, "Neck Breaker". Who is able to execute this attack in "Resident Evil 5"? | "Resident Evil 5": The Mercenaries
|
Chris. When a Majini is grabbing his leg, approach him from behind and press the action command. Chris will perform an instant kill. Everyone has a similar move, but only Chris does HUNK's Neck Breaker.
Ithica M37. This gun has a critical of 25%. This is not a bad critical for any gun, much less a shotgun with plenty of stopping power as it is.
The "Ship Deck" stage actually supplies you with the coveted Rocket Launcher, a one-hit kill on any enemy from Majini to Executioner. How many rockets do you get? | "Resident Evil 5": The Mercenaries
|
Three. One is at the top of the main mast. The other two are on a platform only accessible through the long zipline running across the ship. These are nice to have, since there are six sub-bosses on this level.
Green Herbs. Green herbs are dropped after taking down these masked gargantuans. It's kind of a rip off, if you ask me. Most of the sub-bosses drop First Aid Spray, which are a full heal instead of a small portion.
Jill (Battle Suit). Only Battle Suit gets herbs. Chris (BSAA), Sheva (BSAA), Sheva (Tribal) and Jill (BSAA) also begin with healing items, but all of them get a First Aid Spray.
The maximum number of Majini allowed on the stage at any time is eleven. However, there is a way to increase the number to twelve. How is that? | "Resident Evil 5": The Mercenaries
|
Kill the chicken(s). Technically each stage is divided into zones. Depending on what zone you're in determines how many enemies appear at one time. By killing the chicken, not only will you get an extra kill for your combo and 150 kill limit, but you will free up an enemy slot for an additional Majini to appear. This will keep the enemy flow coming, allowing for maximum combo, therefore maximum score.
Px4. This gun is exclusive to Jill (BSAA). With a critical hit ratio of 87.5%, this gun can pull off several kills in a row, provided you are proficient with your headshots. In "Resident Evil 5", criticals only count with headshots and melee attacks. So, if you shoot one hundred Majini in he head, about 87-88 of them will die instantly.
The Mines. Wesker (Midnight) is the highest scoring character on every leaderboard on every level of every mode on XBL and PSN. This is due, almost exclusively to his powerful physical attacks and his S&W M500 Hand Cannon.
Eleven. There are a whopping eleven Time Bonus clocks on this stage. This is more than necessary, considering the mazework of boxes, and the sheer size of the stage. This level also supplies the largest number of sub-bosses of any level.
Jill (BSAA). Scoring an A gets you the classic favorite, Jill Valentine, sporting her outfit from the newly formed Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA). This is just one of Jill's new costumes.
Yes. After shooting all of the emblems you earn the achievement "Badge of Honor". It's worth 30 gamerscore points.
Uroboros Aheri. Wesker betrayed Excella and in turn, she transformed into Uroboros Aheri. The laser targeting device can be very helpful. It is actually possible to defeat Uroboros Aheri without it.
In chapter 2-1. The first Big Man Majini is encountered in chapter 2-1, named "Storage Facility". The Big Man is accompanied by a pack of dogs and some Town Majini armed with crossbows.
