Ethan Ramsey and Simone Torres. Ethan and Simone had dated for many months (Ethan started to date Simone after he broke up with Kendall) but it was in January of 2006 when he proposed to Simone. Simone accepted and they planned on getting married later on that year. Ethan died the next month as a result of an explosion at the Mardi Gras Ball.

In February, who told Erica that Josh Madden was her biological son?

Tad Martin. Erica started to suspect that Josh was up to no good so she asked Tad to investigate him. Tad found out that Josh was really Erica's child with Jeff that she thought she had aborted. It turned out that Dr. Greg Madden, the fertility doctor in Pine Valley, was the doctor who performed Erica's abortion back in 1973 (at that time, Erica had daytime television's first legal abortion) but he actually transplanted her fetus into that of his wife, Emily, and Emily Madden gave birth to Josh several months later. Erica was shocked but concealed the truth from Josh for several more months.

In March, who was the first person to see an alive Dixie at Chandler Mansion?

David Hayward. Dixie was revealed to have been alive in December of 2005 when Di went to visit her in Europe. Dixie made her way back to Pine Valley and blasted Di when she found out that Di had impersonated her. Dixie watched as JR and Babe remarried in March of 2005 at Chandler Mansion (Adam and Krystal renewed their vows at the same ceremony). This was when David came upon Dixie and told her how thrilled he was to find out she was alive.

In April, who called up Jeff Martin and asked him to come back to Pine Valley?

Joe Martin. Joe found out that Josh was really Jeff and Erica's son and felt Jeff needed to know. At this time, Jeff was in Kenya since he worked with Doctors Without Borders. Joe phoned up Jeff and told him who Josh really was and Jeff told Joe he would be coming home. Erica was not pleased with what Joe did.

In May, JR rigged some construction materials to fall on Babe and kill her. Who did it fall on instead?

Kendall Hart. JR got drunk and believed that Babe was plotting against him to take his son away. He decided to rig some construction material to fall on Babe and she would die. Kendall came upon the construction material and it fell on her. Kendall was in a coma for several weeks and, while she was in a coma, doctors delivered her baby, Spike Lavery.

In June, which couple broke up?

Erin Lavery and Aidan Devane. Erin and Aidan had dated for several months since Erin liked how Aidan gave Jonathan a second chance when it was revealed that a tumor caused Jonathan to go on a crime spree. However, Erin and Aidan had many differences and did have many fights. Erin decided to break off all things with Aidan in June of 2006 and he accepted.

In July, at what Pine Valley location did we first meet Annie and Emma?

Ryan's penthouse. Ryan met a new woman in town named Annie McDermott and she had a daughter, Emma. Annie told Ryan she was fleeing her ex-husband, Terry, and needed a place to stay. Ryan objected, at first, but Erin persuaded Ryan to change his mind. Erin had helped Annie flee from Terry. It was revealed, several months later, that Ryan was Emma's biological father.

In August, who told Colby that she would have to share her Sweet Sixteen birthday party with Sydney Harris?

Krystal Carey Chandler. Colby had returned to town just a month prior to her decision to have a huge party to celebrate her sixteenth birthday. Krystal arranged for the party but she informed Colby that she would have to share the party with her friend, Sydney Harris. Colby became upset but she accepted this and agreed to share her birthday party with Sydney, who was also turning 16 years old.

In September, Jesse McCartney performed at Colby and Sydney's Sweet Sixteen birthday party. Who told Jesse that he looked familiar?

Adam Chandler. Adam had a surprise for Colby and Sydney at their birthday bash and that was Jesse McCartney would sing for them. Colby and Sydney were thrilled and had a blast listening to Jesse. At one point, during the party, Adam told Jesse he looked familiar but Jesse said he did not know him personally. This was really an inside joke since Jesse McCartney was on "AMC" from 1998 to 2001 when he played JR Chandler, Adam's son.

In October, who got Tad flustered on the stand during Zach and Dixie's trial?

Livia Frye. Zach and Dixie were arrested for murdering Greg Madden and their lawyer was Livia. At the trial, Livia cross-examined Tad on the witness stand and proved that he lied about being stuck at the airport the night Greg disappeared (that was Tad's alibi in Greg's murder). Tad went on a rant against Dixie and he revealed, to her, that he buried Greg Madden alive and this led to his death. Tad told Dixie that he tore into her on the witness stand to create doubt in the case. Zach and Dixie were acquitted and Zach managed to get Tad out of being arrested.
