How many King Henry's have England had?

    8. The great Henry VIII was the last official king Henry of England although some did style Henry Stuart as Henry IX although he never took his claim seriously.

This Henry famously won the battle of Agincourt due to the superiority of his archers. Shakespeare wrote a play about him.
    Henry V. The Battle of Agincourt (1415) was one of the most famous battles in English history.

This Henry was the founder of the Tudor dynasty after winning the crown off Richard III's head.
    Henry VII. The relatively unknown Henry Tudor beat Richard at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485. He then became Henry VII.

This Henry was known as Beauclerc ('fine scholar') and supposedly had 25 illegitimate children.
    Henry I. He was called Beauclerc due to his education. Even though he had 25 illegitimate children, his main heir was a female Matilda. After his death Matilda and her cousin Stephen fought for the English throne.

Henry VIII was famous for many things, most notably his six wives. He is also known for improving the navy. Which of his famous ships sank and was later restored in Portsmouth after being raised from the sea bed?
    The Mary Rose. The Mary Rose has been raised from the sea bed and can now be viewed in Portsmouth.

Henry II was the father of two of England's kings Richard I and John and was the founder of the Plantagenet dynasty but who was his wife?
    Eleanor of Aquitaine. Eleanor of Aquitaine was first married to the King of France who divorced her after her inability to bear him sons, she didn't have this problem with Henry!

After the early death of his father this Henry was crowned whilst still a baby.
    Henry VI. The age of Henry VI when he came to power could well have been a contributory factor to him being overthrown by Edward IV in the Wars of the Roses.

Who were Henry IV's parents?
    John of Gaunt and Blanche of Lancaster. John of Gaunt was the third son of Edward III and his wife Blanche the mighty Duke of Lancaster's hieress. Henry never knew his mother as she died in the Black Death when he was was young.

Henry III was the son of King John after his father's death. Where was Henry's coronation held?
    Gloucester Cathedral. Henry's first coronation was a hasty affair held in Gloucester Cathedral he was then crowned again in 1220 in Westminster Abbey.

Henry IV deposed his cousin Richard II to gain the throne, what was the name given to Henry after the castle he was born in?
    Bolingbroke. Henry was known as Henry Bolingbroke he deposed his unpopular cousin in 1399.
