Special Sub-Topic: All About Steve

What causes Bullock to divert his attention from catching the cyber terrorist?

softball. Bullock: "There's a maniac out there jeopardizing the security of our nation. We must focus all of our resources on catching him. (Agent whispers in Bullock's ear.) Right after softball practice."

Where does Stan go to eat a sandwich?
study. Stan: (trying to avoid admitting his son is a geek) "If you're an athlete, you're a winner. And all Smiths are winners. Therefore all athletes are Smiths. I'll take my sandwich in the study."

Who does Stan take Steve and his friends to meet in the ballpark's visitor locker room?
Derek Jeter. To gear Steve up for the father/son CIA softball game, Stan (still not knowing Steve is a geek) takes Steve and his friends to an Oriole home game against the Yankees. Stan even pulls some strings so everyone can go to the Yankees locker room to meet Derek Jeter. Jeter, however, pulls Stan aside and whispers that he thought the CIA was done with him, and thinks that he killed someone in a moment he doesn't remember. Stan quickly says he's not there for that issue; he just wants the boys to meet Jeter.

In the locker room, the shirts Steve and his friends wear are from which geeky favorite?
Star Trek. Being the nerds that they are, Steve and his friends wear "Star Trek" uniforms into the locker room, with Steve wearing the yellow one. They each assume the identity of a character from "Star Trek"; Toshi soon remarks that the fact that Steve did not make him Sulu shows remarkable racial sensitivity.

Steve used to have a ventriloquist dummy of himself.
    t. When Derek Jeter points out Steve and his friends in their geeky garb to Stan, Stan is forced to come to terms with his son being a geek. As he runs home to check Steve's room (where he finds action figures and schoolbooks), he thinks back to past moments in Steve's life that showed off nerdy characteristics. Among the moments pictured are Steve performing a magic show, a test with an A+, and Steve with the dummy of himself.

What does Roger get beat up by?
taco. Roger is a social being, needing to mingle with others, but since he is an alien, he can't be seen by any people. To help Roger go outside but remain unrecognized, Haley gets him a job where he dresses up in a juice cup costume and passes out fliers to people on the street. Shortly after Roger starts, a man in a taco costume comes over to Roger, screaming that Roger is cutting into his business. Roger tries to talk to the taco to make peace, but accidentally makes a comment that unfortunately doubles as insulting innuendo. The taco proceeds to beat up Roger and throw him into traffic.

Bullock: "All of our living code breakers are absolutely stumped. Therefore, because we have no leads, we'll be raiding a(n) _______."
mosque. A cyber terrorist has been hacking into vital computer systems around the Washington D.C. area (including a dam and the Securities and Exchange Commission). Right before he performs his hacks, he faxes the CIA a note about his upcoming attack in a strange language they have never seen before (later revealed to be Elvish). Bullock and everyone else at the CIA is completely stumped, and doing what many believe the U.S. government does in real life, attack Arabs in the absence of reliable intelligence.

Whose underwear does Steve burn to distract Dan Veber?
Peter Jackson. After Veber (now known to be the cyber terrorist) pushes a "Star Wars" robot on top of Stan, Steve torches underwear Peter Jackson wore while making a movie to distract Veber. Veber immediately rushes over to put out the fire, since artifacts like Jackson's underwear are more valuable than gold to hardcore nerds. While Veber is stomping out the flames (with bare feet), Steve lifts the model robot off of Stan.

When Dan Veber tries to get away from Stan, where does Stan shoot him?
leg. As Veber finishes putting out the fire, Stan comes over and points his gun at him. Veber puts on a ring, believing that it is the actual working One Ring from "Lord of the Rings" and will make him invisible. Naturally, Stan doesn't fall for it, and shoots Veber in the left leg close to the knee as Veber dances around taunting Stan.

Where does Stan say he and Steve are at the end of the episode?
auto show. Shortly after Stan shoots Veber, Bullock shows up to have him taken away. He congratulates Stan, who gives the credit for finding Veber to Steve. Although Stan has come to terms with Steve being a geek, he still doesn't want anyone else to know, and (in Bullock's presence) refers to the whole event they are at as an auto show. When Steve tries to point out it is a sci-fi convention, all Stan says is that Steve loves his cars.
