Mr. George Bell Chicken. Mr. Chicken, who was a civilian, attached himself to a mixed party of troopers of mounted police and cavalry. They routed a force of about 100 mutineers. A pursuit followed in which Mr. Chicken forged ahead. He charged into the middle of about 20 of the enemy, killing five before he was badly wounded. He was rescued by the other soldiers.
