How old is Fitz when he starts to tell his story?

6. At the very beginning of the book, Fitz says that the first memory he has from his childhood is from when he was six years old.

At the beginning of the book, Fitz's poor grandfather gives him to a guard of a castle. What was the name of the guard?

Jason. When Fitz arrives at the citadel he is given to the guard, Jason. Prince Verity asks Jason to give Fitz to Burrich, and that's how Fitz arrives at Buckkeep Castle.

Why did his old grandfather gave Fitz away?

Because he did not want to work extra time in order to feed Fitz. The old grandfather tells the guard of the citadel that he had enough of working a lot more than he was supposed to, in order to take care of Fitz.

Who is Fitz's mother?

We don't know. Allthough Fitz hears his mother's voice through the snow at the beginning, we don't know who she is or what her name is.

What happened to Prince Chivalry when Fitz arrived at Buckkeep?

He abdicated the throne and left for Withywoods.. After Chivalry heard of Fitz's existence, he left his throne and gave it to his younger brother, Verity. He left to live at Withywoods with his wife Lady Patience.

One day at the beginning, in the stables of Moonseye fortress, Fitz woke up and found three people above him. Who were they?

Prince Verity, Prince Regal and Burrich.. One day Fitz wakes up and finds three people talking above him and looking at him. The first one he recognises as Prince Verity. The second man is similar to Verity, and after a few paragraphs we find out it is Prince Regal. Behind them Burrich stands.

What was the colour of the fur of Nosy, the first dog Fitz formed the Wit with?

Red. Fitz describes Nosy as a small dog with red fur and green eyes.

When Fitz arrives at Buckkeep town with Nosy, he meets a girl whose father owns a candle shop. What was her name?

Molly. Molly is girl of a a drunken father, which owns a candle shop. In the future, Molly takes an important part of Fitz's life...

Where did Fitz meet his grandfather, King Shrewd, when he 'made Fitz belong to him'?

At the great hall when he played under the table.. Fitz is playing under the table with some dog puppies when he meets King Shrewd, Prince Regal and the Fool. King Shrewd wants Fitz to be useful and on his side so he decides to declare Fitz that he belongs to him, by giving him his pin.

What happend to Nosy?

Burrich sent him with Fedwren to the Mountain Kingdoms.. Allthuogh Fitz thought for many years that Burrich had killed Nosy because of the Wit connection he had with him, when he rode to Jhaampe, he found out that Burrich sent him there with Fedwren in one of his journeys.
