Special Sub-Topic: Banned Movies

'Blade' (1998) starring Wesley Snipes, is banned in which of the following countries?

Malaysia. Bit of a let-down after that melodramatic intro of mine huh? ;)
I have no idea why the film was banned. Interestingly, 'Schindler's List' (1993) and 'Zoolander' (2001) are also banned there.

Cult favourite 'The Evil Dead' (1982) features an infamous scene where a woman is being raped by what?
Tree. This ground-breaking low-budget horror flick directed by Sam Raimi, was cut to pieces upon its initial release. Excessive to minor cuts had to be made to ensure release in many countries.

According to the tagline of 'Last House on the Left' (1972) what should you be constantly repeating to yourself out-loud while you're watching?
It's only a movie, only a movie. 'Last House on the Left' sparked a whole new sub-genre of movies.
In it, a bunch of murderers and rapists find themselves staying in the house belonging to the family of their young victim. When the parents find out, all hell breaks loose! 'Last House' in its complete form is banned in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, and it's very difficult to find an uncut version of it.
Some credit for this has go to the occasional violence and sex, but it's the very disturbing subject matter that concerns censors most.

'Baise-moi' features explicit violence and sex, and after being given a limited release under the rating of 'R 18+' in Australia, the Government later banned it and forcefully stopped it from being screened. When was it first released world-wide?
2000's. It was released in 2000. The movie is about a couple of women who take revenge against men and society in the most violent way possible, after they had earlier been mistreated.

Which 'James Bond' girl can you see tied to a post naked and painted by cannibals in 'Mountain of the Cannibal God'?
Ursula Andress. Though over 40 years old at the time, Ursula has never minded undressing in front of the camera. Though quite tame for its genre, 'Cannibal God' still contains some fairly extreme cannibal gore, and was banned in places such as West Germany, and heavily cut in others.
Like most of its kind, it certainly can't claim "no animals were harmed in the making of this picture." One of these gratuitous scenes involves a real monkey having the life slowly crushed out of it by a Boa Constrictor.

Complete this title: '____ Chainsaw Massacre'
texas. The film has been banned on and off in the UK since its 1974 release.
It was so horrifying that many people rushed out of cinemas, and this was just during the sneak previews! 'Texan Chainsaw Massacre' is another film banned due to extreme violence and gore.

For what sexploitative film do we remember Linda Lovelace?
Deep Throat. Filmed in less then a week, this very influential film brought porn into the mainstream. It was among one of the first movies to be given an X-rating, and was given an official release in the UK in 2000, and that was only a cut version!
Lovelace herself was working against the porn industry, until her untimely death in 2002 due to injuries sustained from a car accident.

Which notorious cult classic has this, as part of its tagline? "This woman has just cut, chopped, broken and burned five men beyond recognition... but no jury in America would ever convict her!"
I Spit on Your Grave. Also known as 'Day of the Woman,' and 'I Hate Your Guts.'
'I Spit on Your Grave' (1978)is banned from countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Germany.
Like 'Last House on The Left' it has a very disturbing subject matter, but it has a lot more explicit violence/sex.
It's about an author who is raped and left to die by a bunch of guys, but she manages to survive, and take violent revenge.

Ruggero Deodato's 'Cannibal Holocaust' (1979) was banned in how many countries upon it's first release?
    50. One of the most notorious banned movies ever. Audiences are divided as to whether 'Cannibal Holocaust' is a hard-hitting masterpiece, or just plain sick. It includes extreme cannibal gore, and the director, Deodato was taken to court to try to prove the human slaughter in the film wasn't actually real. He lost, but the ruling was overturned several years later.

What movie caused a stir midway through 2003, being banned in Australia because it "offends against the standards of morality, decency and propriety generally accepted by reasonable adults to the extent that it should be refused classification."
'___ Park'
ken. There was a secret showing of the film, after it was refused entry into the Sydney Film Festival.
However, police raided the event, and stopped the showing, just as the opening scene was about to unfold.
It contains explicit sex with individuals perceived to be minors, though it hasn't had major censorship problems in any other country.
