Special Sub-Topic: Classic "Aliens" Quotes
"Game over man, game over!" is a quote by which marine, who is never short of snappy quotes?
Hudson. Throughout the entire movie Hudson is just teeming with one liners. This is probably his most iconic line though. He says it right after the combination of the first slaughter of the marines and the drop-ship crashing. He is constantly giving up hope, and this line is just another way of showing that.
"Maybe we could build a fire, sing a couple of songs, huh?" is an unexpected, snide retort to "game over man, game over" by which other character?
Burke. Throughout most of the movie, Burke tends to be quiet and keep to himself. After the drop-ship crashes, however, he gets worked up enough to say this line.
After waking up from cryosleep, when the marines first meet Ripley, Vasquez says "Hey Mira, who's ___________?" To which Disney princess does she compare Ripley?
Snow White. Ferro of course responds with "She's supposed to be some kinda consultant. Apparently she saw an alien once." They obviously start with a unfounded lack of faith in the continual hero of the "Alien" movies.
Finish the quote by Newt: "They mostly come at night... ____"
Mostly. This occurs right after the drop-ship crash. She says this to Ripley because she wants everyone to get inside because the Aliens always come out in packs at night. Despite the seeming simplicity of this line, this memorable quote was used by TV shows such as "South Park", which actually quotes it multiple times in different episodes. It has become quite iconic of this movie.
One of the signs that the marines are about to get killed is when Gorman tells everyone to not use their rifles near the fusion reactor. The marines, however, are always armed with witty responses. Frost replies to this with, "What do you expect us to use man , ____________?" What does he suggest they use to fight the Aliens?
Harsh Language. This command from Gorman certainly doesn't make the marines more confident in their lieutenant as this quote shows. Trying to keep a level head, Gorman suggests using flame throwers instead, which ends up being one of the few effective means of warding off the Aliens.
After being called an android by Ripley, when Ripley first realizes he is one, Bishop replies "I prefer the term ___________ myself." What does Bishop prefer to be called?
Artificial Person. After her first mishap with an android in the first "Alien" movie, it is clear that Ripley does not like androids. Her view changes a bit when Bishop saves everyone in the end. Also despite this line, no one actually calls him an Artificial Person. They all just call him a synthetic.
After getting out of cryosleep, all the marines are hard at work and Ripley, feeling awkward, asks Apone "I feel like kind of a fifth wheel around here, is there anything I can do?" Surprisingly Apone responds with "I dunno, _____________________?" Finish the quote.
is there anything you can do. Ripley then responds that she can drive a lifter. She proceeds to get in one and show off to Apone. This, of course, is the vehicle that she uses to kill the Alien queen at the end of the movie.
During the meal on the ship, and after Ripley gets angry and throws her tray, Frost says "I guess she don't like the _________, either." What food item are the marines complaining about eating?
Cornbread. After the marines were complaining about their food, Ripley gets angry when she finds out that Bishop is an android and throws the tray he offers her. Frost then says this humorous line, demonstrating the marines' lack of concern about this conflict.
|Finish this conversation:
Newt: "My mommy always said there were no monsters, no real ones, but there are."
Ripley: "Yes there are, aren't there."
Newt: "Why would do they tell little kids that?"
Ripley: "____________________________" |
Most of the time it's true.. It's not exactly the most reassuring line. Ripley tells this to Newt to help her sleep. Needless to say, it doesn't work. Ripley comes back later to find her hiding under her bed just before they both get attacked by a couple more parasites.
One last memorable line is "Stop your grinnin' and drop your _______." What word fills this blank?
Linen. This is another classic quote from Hudson. He says it after he discovers where all the colonists are. The meaning of this line is not completely known, but it is humorous nonetheless.
