obedience&Obedience. The fairy Lucinda cast the spell on her when she was just a baby, much to the dismay of both her mother and her cook Mandy. Lucinda thought that the spell was a gift but really it was quite dangerous. If someone was to tell Ella to chop of her own head than she would be forced to do so.

What birthday was Ella celebrating when she first became aware of the curse?

5th. After one slice of cake, Ella continued to eat because Mandy had told her to do so. She even dug right into the cake itself until finally her mother realized what had happened and commanded her to stop eating.

When Ella first learned that Mandy was a fairy, Mandy told her that she better keep it a secret because when people meet fairies there is big trouble. She then told Ella the main reasons why there is trouble. How many reasons did Mandy tell her?

Simon. Simon was the name of the parrot keeper. When Ella visited the zoo with Char, they went to the parrot cages because it was one of Ella's favorite places. There they met up with Simon.

What kind of creature was the child that Ella and Char rescued at the zoo from becoming an ogre's lunch?

a gnome. Char scooped up the little gnome child before the ogre could reach him. Then he gave the child to Ella and the ogre commanded her to give him the child. Ella had to obey him but when Char realized she was stepping towards the ogre he told her to stop. Ella then lied and told Char that the ogre had used its eyes to bewitch her.

What animal did Char tell Ella that he would catch and give to her?

centaur&Centaur. He told her this after their day at the zoo. While she was away at finishing school, Char brought a centaur named Apple to Ella's house to give to her. Mandy told him Ella was away and so Char promised he would take care of Apple until she returned.

When Ella ate dinner with her father and knocked over a crystal goblet, what did he tell her he let her grow up to be?

an oaf. Ella was forced to wear an oversized gown to dinner and she accidently broke a crystal goblet. When she returned in an everyday dress her father told her that he had let her grow up an oaf.

Ella was pretty and brave. Ella used a flower to put a spell on Hattie that allowed for Ella to ask Hattie any question she wanted and recieve an honest response. She asked her why Hattie hated her and Hattie said it was because Ella had never admired her. Ella then asked if Hattie admired her and Hattie said that she did because Ella was pretty and brave.

Blossom. Blossom was a friend of Hattie's at finishing school. She feared that if her uncle Edmund married that she would not inherit his fortune when he died.

they own an inn. Areida and Ella were best friends at finishing school. Areida told Ella about her parents and the inn that they owned.

Areida lived in the city Amonta just over the border of what country?

Ayortha. Areida told Ella that she lived in Amonta a city just over the border of Ayortha. Areida even tried to teach Ella the Ayorthian language.

Ella traveled to a giant's wedding in the book. What was the name of the giant whose daughter was getting married?

Uaaxee. Udabee was the giant getting married and her mother was Uaaxee. Ella went to the wedding in hope that she would find the fairy Lucinda and have the curse lifted from her. Instead Lucinda made her love her curse.

When Ella met Char at her father's wedding, he spoke some Ogrese and she thought that his accent was...

atrocious. She laughed at his accent which was horrid. Char told her that even the ogres laughed at him.

On the third night of the ball, Char met Ella at her carriage and commented on its unusual coloring. What color was the carriage?

orange. When Ella went to the royal balls, she disguised herself and said that her name was Lela. She said that she was from Bast. On the third night of the ball, Char met her at her carriage which was orange because it had originally been a pumpkin that Lucinda had transformed. Ella then told Char that orange carriages were not unusual in Bast.
