Fun Trivia: ' : 'Star Trek' - Quotes

Special Sub-Topic: I'm A Doctor, Not A ...

"I am a doctor, not a historian"?

Julian Bashir. This comes from the 'Deep Space Nine' episode 'Trials and Tribble-Ations'. Some of the crew had been thrown back in time to the 23rd century and Julian was quite ignorant of the history of the time.

"I'm a doctor, not an escalator"?
Leonard McCoy. Dr. McCoy said this in the TOS episode 'Friday's Child'. McCoy, Kirk and a pregnant woman named Eleen are trying to climb up a hill to take shelter in a cave. Eleen finds the climb tough but she will only let McCoy help her and he ends up remarking "Look, I'm a doctor, not an escalator".

"I'm a doctor, not a bricklayer"?
Leonard McCoy. This was the very first "I'm a doctor" catchphrase was used in 'Star Trek'. It is from the 'The Original Series' episode 'The Devil In The Dark'. However in the earlier episode 'The Corbomite Maneuver' McCoy had said "What am I, a doctor or a moon-shuttle commander?"

"I'm a doctor, not a dragon-slayer"?
The Doctor (Voyager's EMH). This was in the 'Voyager' episode 'Bliss'. An alien called Qatai had, for many years, been trying to destroy bio-plasmic lifeform that was capable of devouring ships, and he wanted The Doctor to join him in the hunt.

"I'm a doctor, not a doorstop"?
EMH mark 1 (Enterprise-E). In the movie 'First Contact' the Borg were taking over the Enterprise-E. They were trying to break into Sick Bay so Dr. Crusher activated the EMH. She asked him to hold off the Borg so that she, her staff and patients could escape via the Jeffries tubes.

Which 'Star Trek' doctor told another doctor "I'm a doctor, not a commando"?
EMH mark 2. This was the EMH mark 2's answer to The Doctor when The Doctor wanted his help to retake the USS Prometheus from the Romulans in the 'Voyager' episode 'Message in a Bottle'.

"I'm a doctor, not a zoo-keeper"?
The Doctor (Voyager's EMH). This was The Doctor's explanation for deactivating Dr. Zimmerman's pet holo-iguana (who was named Leonard). This was in the 'Voyager' episode 'Lifeline'.

"I am a doctor, not a database"?
The Doctor (Voyager's EMH). The Doctor said this to Henry Starling in the episode 'Future's End, Part 2'. 'Voyager' had been flung back in time to the 20th century, and The Doctor was kidnapped by computer industrialist Starling. This was the episode in which The Doctor obtained his mobile emitter.

In the episode 'Prototype' the Voyager's EMH started the sentence "I am a doctor" but B'Elanna Torres finished it. What did she say?
not an engineer.. The other three answers were used as part of the catchphrase by The Doctor in other episodes. Of all the doctors that used the catchphrase the Voyager's EMH was the one that used it the most.

My last question is a reversal of the theme of this quiz. Which 'Star Trek' character said "I am a pilot, _____ , not a doctor"?
Tom Paris. Paris was talking to Harry Kim in the 'Voyager' episode 'Message in a Bottle'. The Doctor was on an away-mission in the Alpha Quadrant and Paris, who had been assigned to run the sick-bay in The Doctor's absence, wanted Harry to program a new EMH.
