What character does this book start with?

Mendanbar. Mendanbar is the new King of the Enchanted Forest. Gracie is not a character at all but Morwen and Cimorene are.

Who is Mendanbar's steward?

Willin. Willin is the castle steward and an elf. Again, Gracie is not a character. Cimorene is a princess so it is not likely that she is a steward of anything, and Telemain is probably galavanting all over the countryside conducting more research, as he is a magician and a magical theoretician.

Why does Mendanbar need a steward?

he is a king. Mendanbar is a king. As a king, he has a kingdom that comes complete with a castle. Willin is needed to keep the castle well maintained. Mendanbar is a good guy so he would not blackmail Willin under any circumstances, and he is certainly not a dog.

Who did Mendanbar go to see just after he found the burned spot in the Enchanted Forest?

Morwen. He was out for a walk when he found a "burned" spot in the Enchanted Forest. He was told by a squirrel to go see Morwen. He has not met Telemain or Cimorene but he sent a coronation gift to Kazul when she became the king of the dragons.

Who was waiting for Mendanbar at the castle?

Zemenar. The wizard Zemenar was waiting to bring up the issue of the wizards being banned from the Caves of Fire and Night by the dragons, and to ask for the use of Mendanbar's entrance into the caves. He was disinclined to help the slime ball. This is also when Zemenar tried to lie to Mendanbar about Cimorene being an empty headed and manipulative princess.

What did Mendanbar take with him to the Mountains of Morning?

a sword. He took his magic sword. Cimorene was the one that always had a handkerchief, not Mendanbar. Willin had suggested that he take an escort, which Mendanbar declined. Although Mendanbar does have an enormous castle with far too many staircases, he does not own a magic ring that will make the bearer invisible.

What was Mendanbar supposed to take with him to the Mountains of Morning, that he forgot?

cider. Mendanbar forgot the cider that was for Kazul from Morwen. When he got back to his castle he told Willin to put the cider away. Zemenar has still got his staff so Mendanbar could not have forgotten it.

When Mendanbar got to Kazul's cave who was he greeted by?

Cimorene. This is the fist time Mendanbar has met Cimorene. He thought that she would be a silly princess, whose only talent is the ability to manipulate everyone. He was completely wrong. Cimorene is a beautiful and talented princess.

What creature did Antorell summon to fight Cimorene and Mendanbar?

a nightshade. Antorell is not a very good wizard but he did somehow manage to put a nightshade right in front of Mendanbar and Cimorene. I'm not sure he could manage a one-eyed monster, and there is no mention of the Astral-plane in any of these books. Mendanbar got rid of the nightshade in time for them all to live through the attack.

What did Cimorene and Mendanbar go to Flat-top Mountain to get?

magic carpet. They went to get a magic carpet from Ballimore the giantess. The Cauldron is mostly used by Ballimore when her 12 headed nephew comes to town. The magic carpet was defective and that is how they met Telemain and Jack.

Who is Telemain?

a magician. Telemain is a magician. He is not a frog or a dragon. He did want to learn to be a wizard, but he is not a wizard.

What fairy tale was Herman from?

Rumpelstiltskin. Herman is based on the tale of Rumpelstiltskin. There is no fairy tale about a dog and his bone that I know of but if you find one please tell me.

Where did Telemain take Cimorene and Mendanbar to fix their carpet?

Gypsy Jack's. Gypsy Jack's is where he took them. Telemain does not go to his tower in this book but it is mentioned. Morwen is inside the Enchanted Forest, and getting there is difficult. There are no streets that I know of and I really think that streets are a good idea.

Who took Kazul?

the wizards. The wizards took kazul to presumably get her out of the way so the dragons would start a war. The wicked uncle and his nephew were very helpful in finding the wizards.

Who got married at the end of the book?

Cimorene and Mendanbar. Cimorene and Mendanbar got married and it was wonderful. Morwen and Kazul were there along with Telemain and most of the dragons. Gracie does not exist in this book or any others and Scorn is a cat. Morwen and Telemain get married in the last book and Ballimore is already married. You will have to read the book to get the full details.
