    Malcolm X. Malcolm X was born Malcolm Little in Omaha, Nebraska. His father, Earl Little, a Baptist preacher and civil rights advocate, was murdered. This event fundamentally shaped Malcolm's future.

Another milestone in music history occurred on February 3rd 1959. What was it?
    Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper die in a plane crash. Buddy Holly chartered a plane to take him and the other two perfomers to their next tour stop. Shortly after take off from Mason City, Iowa, the plane crashed into a corn field, killing all on board.

An unprecedented event took place on February 14th, 1989, that made world wide headlines. What was it?
    Author Salman Rushdie goes into hiding after being sentenced to death by Ayatollah Khomeini. Salman Rushdie, author of the controversial book 'The Satanic Verses', so enraged the Muslim regime in Iran, that the spiritual leader of that country, Ayatollah Khomeini, said it was the duty of every good Muslim to kill this man and anyone associated with his book.

One of the most legendary acts of bravery in world history, took place in 1836, starting on February 23rd. What was it?
    The defence of the Alamo. A group of 189 Texas volunteers defended the old mission against a Mexican Army of thousands. Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie and William Travis, all perished in the resulting massacre.

A ground breaking annoucement was made to the world's media on February 2nd, 1990. Who made it?
    F. W. De Klerk announces the imminent release of Nelson Mandela. The announcement was of the imminent release of Nelson Mandela, which occured on February 11th of that year.

Which eminent scientist died on February 18th, 1967?
    Robert Oppenheimer. Robert Oppenheimer was the director of the Los Alamos laboratory during the development of the atomic bomb, from 1943 to 1945.

This eminent scientist was born on February 19th, 1473. Who was he?
    Nicolaus Copernicus. Nicolaus Copernicus was born in Torun, Poland. His theories on the universe and the solar system, although revolutionary at the time, made possible the work of the other three.

Which famous sportsman was born on February 6, 1895?
    Babe Ruth. George Herman 'Babe' Ruth was born in Baltimore, Maryland. This celebrated left hander pitched for the Boston Red Sox, before being sold to the New York Yankees in 1920. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936.
