    Tom Kelly. Tom Kelly took over for Ray Miller late in the '86 season. It turned out to be a good choice since the Twins won the AL West, the LCS and of course, the World Series in '87.

Who managed the Cardinals in the '87 Series, and what was his other nickname?
    Whitey Herzog / The White Rat. Dorrel Norman Elvert Herzog was also, occasionally called the "White Rat". Whitey was quoted by George Will in Men at Work as saying, "Baseball has been good to me since I quit trying to play it". With three division championships at Kansas City, three league championships, and a World Series win at St. Louis in '85, he was right.

    Tony Pena. Tony had a great LCS too, hitting .361 and scoring 5 runs. Pena, after playing 7 seasons in the Majors with Pittsburgh, was in his first season with the Cardinals.

All of Minnesota's wins were by four or more runs?
    False. They won Game One 10-1, Game Two 8-4, and Game Six 11-5, but Game Seven was a nail-biter. The Twins had to come from behind to win 4-2, behind the great pitching of Frank Viola and Jeff Reardon.

What player led all Series players with 7 RBIs?
    Dan Gladden. Often overlooked, Dan Gladden was another post season star hitting .290 in the World Series, and .350 in the LCS. Gladden had 16 post season hits that year, 6 of them for extra bases.

Which Card's pitcher appeared in four Series games, saved two of them, and had a stellar 1.29 ERA, with his fastball that was well respected by hitters?
    Todd Worrell. Todd had 8 wins and 33 saves in the regular season too. Todd was in his 3rd season in the Majors, and with the Cardinals. He retired in 1997 after 11 seasons.

What native New Yorker was named MVP of the '87 series?
    Frank Viola. Born in Hempstead, New York, Frank "Sweet Music" Viola, won two games in the series, including game 7.

This was the first time the franchise won a World Series, since moving from what city?
    Washington. The old Washington Senators moved to Minnesota in 1961 when the league expanded to ten teams. The Twins won their second World Series in '91 against the Atlanta Braves.
