Banak Brawnanvil. Torgar led the Mirabarran dwarves out of Mirabar, but was content to let someone else lead. Thibbledorf may have led the Gutbuster Brigade, but he was far too wild to ever be trusted to lead all the dwarves. Rockbottom was one of the clerics working to bring Bruenor back from his near fatal wounds.

Regis. Catti-Brie and Wulfgar spent most of their time outside of the tunnels with the dwarves fighting Obould's orcs. Drizzt was out on his own, spending a lot of time in his alter-ego as The Hunter, until he met up with Tarathiel and Innovindil. Believe it or not, Regis was made Steward until Bruenor returned.

Which god or goddess does Obould become "merged" with in this book?

Gruumsh. Lloth is the goddess of the drow (dark elves), and the orcs have no reason to worship her, in spite of the four dark elves working behind the scenes. Baal is the god of assassins, and I have yet to hear of any orcish assassins. Cyric took the place of Bane and Myrkul after the Time of Troubles, making him the god of Strife and Death, but really didn't have much of anything to do with orcs.

Which shaman performed the ceremony on Obould?

Tsinka Shrinrill. Urlgen was Obould's son, but not a shaman. Arganth and Achtel were shamans, but for different tribes. Tsinka is the shaman of Obould's tribe, and the only one he would likely trust to perform the ceremony, if orcs are capable of trusting anyone.

What helped Bruenor come back from the brink of death?

Regis' pendant. Catti-Brie was certainly very worried about Bruenor, but there really wasn't much she could do to help him. Ale didn't really come into it at all. And while Bruenor was certainly tough, the wounds he had received had been very nearly fatal. Somehow, Regis' pendant reached Bruenor in a way none of the spells of the clerics ever could.

Which one of these four characters died during the fighting?

Tarathiel. Innovindil and Sunset were with Drizzt at the time. Sunset was tangled up in a net. Tarathiel was trying to battle Obould, but the infusion had made Obould all but unbeatable. Innovindil and Drizzt had to watch Tarathiel be killed by Obould.

Which of the four dark elves behind the scenes was the first to die?

Ad'non. Kaer'lic and Tos'un had been sent by Obould to the south to "work with" the trolls from the Evermoors. Donnia survived only a little longer than Ad'non did.

Why had Shoudra Stargleam and Nanfoodle been sent to Mithral Hall?

to sabotage Mithral Hall's goods. Marchion Elastul feared the goods coming out of Mithral Hall, and wanted nothing to do with trading. He also didn't care about the dwarves that had left, so long as things went his way. When Shoudra and Nanfoodle were sent, Mirabar was completely unaware of the situation between Mithral Hall and Obould.

What happened to Sunrise after Tarathiel died?

Obould gave it to Gerti as a gift. While the orcs had little use for the noble pegasus, Obould wasn't about to let them kill it. Sunrise couldn't fly away, because at the time, it was tangled up in a net. Drizzt and Innovindil unfortunately couldn't get close enough to free Sunrise from the grasp of the orcs.

What happened to Urlgen Threefist in this book?

Innovindil killed him. Urlgen wouldn't have been stupid enough to defy his father and flee. Drizzt gave Innovindil the opportunity, in order to give her a chance to lash out over the death of Tarathiel, even though Urlgen had nothing to do it.
