Question 1 of 10
1. Drizz't began life in the underground city of Menzoberranzan. As the primary city of the drow, or dark elves, it wasn't easy to find a friendly face or confidant in the midst of the political intrigue and fanatic devotion to fighting that pervaded this 'City of Spiders'.

Which drow, later revealed as his father, does Drizzt come to trust most during his time in Menzoberranzan?
Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. When Drizzt left Menzoberranzan at the end of "Homeland", he carried Guenhwyvar, a 600-pound cat, in his cloak. Of course, she was actually on the Astral Plane, but he carried the onyx figurine that summoned her to him.

With a name meaning 'black' in high-elvish, what type of big cat was Guenhwyvar?
Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. The Svirfneblin (Deep Gnomes) were famed for their mining craft. In "Homeland", one of their members lost both his hands to a drow patrol and survived only due to Drizzt. This kindness was repaid years later when the gnome, with a hammer and pickaxe replacing his lost limbs, vouched for Drizzt during his plea for sanctuary.

Take a deep breath of air. Now, what was the name of this 'Most Honorable Burrow Warden'?
Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. When Drizzt found his way to the surface in "Sojourn", he had many difficulties adjusting. The light burned his sensitive eyes, and the people of the lands knew nothing but fear and hatred for drow. The companion Drizzt found during this time had no qualms about Drizzt's race from the beginning, being completely blind and thus unaware of it.

What ranger of Mielikki would likely say, "I'm no tool" if doubts about his relationship with Drizzt were brought up?
Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. With a last name like 'Battlehammer', it might be easy to guess that Drizzt's next friend is a dwarf. He also has many similarities to Thorin in "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien. Both are sent into exile from their mountain kingdom by a dragon, find ample wealth elsewhere, and return to reclaim their home. However, while Thorin dies almost immediately after reclaiming his
throne, Drizzt's friend manages to rule for years.

Who is this dwarf with a human daughter that goes from Icewind Dale to Mithral Hall in "Sojourn"?
Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. To be a human raised among dwarves, one must be pretty special. To then be swooned over by the likes of Drizzt Do'Urden, one must be an even rarer individual.

What woman captured the hearts of dwarf, drow, and man in "Sojourn"?
Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. Wulfgar was a proud member of Drizzt's close friends, but that wasn't always the case. His origin lies with what group of savage people? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. It seems this character wanted to be a millionaire. He was well known for his love of comfortable living, and his background as part of the largest thieves guild in the south indicated a certain moral flexibility for pursuing the means to achieve it. He was also quite good hearted, though, and found his way into Drizzt's circle of friends despite his shady past.

What halfling scrimshaw artist fits this description?
Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. Drizzt was known as an unparalleled combatant. Well, when he finally defeated a certain assassin in "The Legacy" he was considered unparalleled. It took many conflicts to resolve this battle. Having both reached the pinnacle of combat, it was a difference in ideals that truly contrasted the two.

Who was this 'fowl' villain that kidnapped and murdered without hesitation?
Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. One of the most powerful males in drow society, this roguish fellow led Bregan D'aerthe, a band of mercenaries and information brokers. His flamboyant dress belied a keen intellect and excellent (though underhanded) fighting style.

Can you name this jarring figure who played a significant role in "The Legacy"?
Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts

Answer: Zaknafein Do'Urden

Zaknafein was the master of arms for House Do'Urden and personally trained his son Drizzt as often as possible. The pair seem to hold the only bits of honor in their dark home. When Drizz't losses his family's favor with their deity, Lolth the Queen of Spiders, his mother (and matriarch of the clan) sacrifices Zaknafein to appease her, which leads to Drizzt's departure from the city.

These events are described in "Homeland".

Answer: Panther

Guenhwyvar, or Guen, is Drizzt's friend even before he possesses her statue. While learning magic from her then owner Masoj Hun'ett, the two develop such a strong bond that she overcomes the magic binding her to the statue and aids Drizzt in defeating Masoj.

Although she can only be summoned for limited periods, her intelligence, battle prowess, and companionship make her the perfect companion for a heroic dark elf. Her ability to heal nearly any wound she receives on the Material Plane while at home on the Astral Plane comes in pretty handy, too.

Answer: Belwar Dissengulp

Belwar's forged hands were imbued with magic that made him both a strong warrior (for a gnome) and an unparalleled miner. With a brief incantation and the utterance of 'Bivrip', Belwar could adjust the shape and density of his artificial hands, as well as set them to vibrate like a jackhammer.

When his people were forced to abandon their city of Blingdenstone, he led them to Mithral Hall, where they found sanctuary with some of Drizzt's surface friends.

Answer: Montolio

Hopefully the anagram helped. Montolio taught Drizzt the ways of Mielikki, the Lady of the Forest. He could sympathize with Drizzt's vision problems, and helped him perfect the blind fighting technique that would aid him in many battles. Montolio had tasked himself with guarding the valley where he resided. Upon his death, Drizzt assumed these duties, although he was soon after forced to flee from hunters that would destroy the forest to find him.
However, while Thorin dies almost immediately after reclaiming his throne, Drizzt's friend manages to rule for years. Who is this dwarf with a human daughter that goes from Icewind Dale to Mithral Hall in "Sojourn"?

Answer: Bruenor

Bruenor Battlehammer is the gruff though caring father of Catti-Brie and one of Drizzt's staunchest allies. He keeps a barbarian known as Wulfgar enslaved when Drizzt first meets him, although it soon becomes clear that Bruenor's influence (and later Drizzt's) help him develop into a proud, honorable warrior. Like most dwarves, Bruenor's height didn't affect his ability to wreak havoc on the battlefield with his trusty axe.
6. To be a human raised among dwarves, one must be pretty special. To then be swooned over by the likes of Drizzt Do'Urden, one must be an even rarer individual. What woman captured the hearts of dwarf, drow, and man in "Sojourn"?

Answer: Catti Brie

Catti Brie was both easy going and full of common sense, with a strong moral compass. She was an excellent archer and became an extremely competent spellcaster over the course of her adventures. She eventually married Drizzt.
7. Wulfgar was a proud member of Drizzt's close friends, but that wasn't always the case. His origin lies with what group of savage people?

Answer: Barbarians

As a barbarian, Wulfgar learned a strict, altogether sexist code of ethics. His time spent indentured to the dwarf, Bruenor, taught him much, and by the time he began training with Drizzt in "The Crystal Shard", he was much more suited to civilised dealings. Old habits die hard, though, and when, years later, he was engaged to Catti Brie, the tendency to own rather than cherish surfaced and he became overly protective.

His presumed death saw him stripped of his friends and tortured by demons. When he was finally freed, it took a long time to finally find himself once more.

Answer: Regis

Regis' early life of crime on the streets of Calimport (as described in "The Crystal Shard") was marked by precursors of the person he'd become. When threatened by marked coins from a job in "The Companions", he distributed them among the poor. Abhorring violence, he utilised cunning and wit to achieve his ends.

As a skilled craftsmen, he mastered scrimshaw and produced the unicorn necklace Drizzt was well-known for wearing. He became especially close to King Bruenor, who affectionately called him Rumblebelly for his insatiable appetite.

Answer: Artemis Entreri

Artemis was a bloodthirsty foe that met Drizzt after kidnapping his friend Regis for Pasha Pook. He later took Catti Brie to ensure he could fight Drizzt again. When that confrontation ended ambiguously, he got in with a renegade group of drow known as Bregan D'Aerthe to ensure another chance.

Despite his seeming lack of emotion (other than to fight Drizzt), Artemis was wracked by rage from a young age. This rage only appeared when it was in his best interest or an adult was betraying a child. Eventually ending his feud with Drizzt, the two even shared a few adventures.

Answer: Jarlaxle Baenre

Jarlaxle's bright clothing, plumed hat, and clapping bracelets were anathema to drow society. In spite of this, he attained significant sway among his people due to his wandering ways and penchant for hearing important information. He eventually moved his gang to the surface where they quickly gained notoriety for their bloodthirsty skill.

Despite their similar standing in drow society, Drizzt could not accept Jarlaxle's selfish ways. Though he captured Drizzt several times, it was only to use him, not as an unfriendly act, and thus, the two remained uncomfortably neutral toward each other.
