Fun Trivia: S : Salvatore, R. A.

Special Sub-Topic: "The Sellswords"

Which two well known characters is this series centred around?

Jarlaxle and Artemis Entreri. Two supposed villains from previous trilogies return in this new tale. It shows them from a new perspective without compromising the characters we have come to love or loath.

Which city's underworld do the duo try to take over in "Servant of the Shard"?
Calimport. A return home for Artemis. The duo attempt to usurp the Pashas, hoping to improve further their wealth and fame.

What is the name of the network controlled by Jarlaxle?
Bregan D'earthe. Jarlaxle has been head of this band of drow for many years. They are based in the Underdark city of Menzoberanzan where they have thrived providing "services" to the many noble houses of this impressive drow city.

Jarlaxle is in fact a scion of House Baenre, the ruling noble house of Menzoberanzan.
True. Jarlaxle is in fact the third son of the Matron Mother of House Baenre. As such he should have been sacrificed to Lolth, the Spider Queen and deity of the drow. During the ceremony, his mother's sacrificial dagger failed to take his young life. As a result he became "blessed of Lolth".

Did the duo's attempt on Calimport succeed?
No. Jarlaxle was under the influence of Crenshinibon. He took unnecessary risks. This almost meant the downfall of our two "heroes" and Bregan D'earthe.

After the attempt on Calimport, Jarlaxle hands temporary control of Bregan D'earthe to which character?
Kimmuriel Oblodra. Kimmuriel is a powerful psionicist. His concerns are for the wellbeing of Bregan D'earthe, not necessarily of its individual members. He does not overtly seek to overthrow Jarlaxle. However, in typical drow fashion he is ready to seize any oppurtunity that presents itself.

Name the city that the intrepid duo find themselves in at the start of the second installment, "Promise of the Witch-King".
Heliogabalus. The current capital city of Damara.

What race are Ilnezhara and Tazmikella?
Dragons. These interesting ladies are in fact copper dragons. They pose as human females and each own shops in Heliogabalus.

Who is the Witch-King?
Zhengyi. This character never makes an appearance, as he is in fact dead. He was defeated by King Gareth and his heroic band of adventurers. It is his legacy that is the main cause of interest in "Promise of the Witch-King".

Which dragon does the group encounter within the Zhengyian construct?
Urshula the Black. Urshula is in fact a dracolich, once in servitude to Zhengyi.

Which relation of King Gareth meets her end in "Promise of the Witch-King"?
Ellery. Commander Ellery is a distant relative of King Gareth. She is in fact in league with the Citadel of Assassins.

Who does Artemis revive with his vampiric dagger?
Olgerkhan. Artemis chooses to save Olgerkhan's life at the expense of Canthan. He is a powerful wizard who along with Athrogate is linked with the Citadel of Assassins.

What is striking about Artemis' sword, Charron?
Its blade is blood red. This magical blade can also create a swathe of grey ash at Artemis' call. Artemis uses this to devastating effect when battling numerous opponenets.

What is the name of the town, north of the Vaasan Gate, that the Zhengyian castle appears near?
Palishchuk. Palishchuck is a town mainly populated by orcs and half-orcs. It is home to several characters who accompany Artemis and Jarlaxle in their attempts to destroy the construct.

What item does Jarlaxle find within the Zhengyian constuct?
A phylactery. Jarlaxle finds Urshula's phylactery. He keeps this for future use in his adventures.
