    1950. There were 17 Airborne Ranger companies trained in 1950. These companies were trained specifically for combat missions during the Korean War.

What was the Ranger Training Brigade first called?
    Ranger Training Command. The Ranger Training Brigade (RTB) started out as the Ranger Training Command but in 1951 it changed to the Ranger Department. In 1987, the Ranger Department reorganized to the Ranger Training Brigade.

In 1973, the Regiment became the 75th Infantry (RANGER) Regiment. The 75th Ranger Regiment is part of the Special Operations Command.

    Robert Rogers. Rogers wrote the standing orders in 1756. There were 19 standing orders that he used to train and judge his soldiers.

When was 2nd Ranger Battalion activated? (WWII)
    April 1943. 2nd Ranger Battalion was activiated at Camp Forrest, Tennessee. 2nd Ranger Battalion is responsible for assaulting the cliffs of Point Du Hoc and destroying a large gun battery that would have destroyed the Allied fleet that was sitting off-shore.

Who was the commander of the 2nd Ranger Battalion during WWII?
    James Rudder. In 1974, the 6th Ranger Training Battalion was renamed Camp Rudder in honor of MG James Rudder.

    David Grange & David E. Grange. LTG David E. Grange is a veteran of 20 campaigns. He was involved in WWII, the Korean War, and Vietnam. He served in three tours in Vietnam and was the director of the Ranger Department. He is a true hero. His son, is a retired LTG and currently an analysis for CNN. His son was commander of the 1st Infantry Division.
