    Have his/her grandmother pay for a sightseeing flight.. Part 61.113c tells us that private pilots may not pay less than his/her pro rata share of a flight. Although nobody at the FBO is going to throw a fit if they see Grandma pulling out the credit card, it's technically a violation!

If you passed your private pilot practical test check ride (flight) on April 10th, 2006, when will your certificate expire?
    None of these. Check your certificate, do you see an expiration date anywhere? Nope. There is not one. However, do not get this confused with the requirement to accomplish a Flight Review with a CFI at least once every 24 calendar months.

Let's say you got your second class medical the day before, on April 9, 2006, which also happened to be your 39th birthday. How long will you be able to utilize this medical certificate for private pilot privileges?
    Until April 30, 2009. If the exam is taken before your 40th birthday, you may utilize 3rd class privileges for 36 calendar months. If you have the exam on or after your 40th birthday, it's only valid for 24 calendar months.

Sunset is at 1845, and the end of civil twilight is 1915. What is the earliest I can land the aircraft and have it count for night currency?
    1945. Night currency landings must take place in the period between one hour after sunset and one hour before sunrise. Nighttime technically starts at the end of evening civil twilight and ends at the beginning of morning civil twilight.

According to Part 91.205 (airworthiness requirements), which of these items is not required to be on the aircraft in order for it to be considered airworthy.
    Attitude Indicator. Here's what you GOTTA have: magnetic compass, altimeter, airspeed indicator, tachometer for each engine, fuel level indicator, oil pressure gauge, oil temperature gauge for each air-cooled engine, landing gear position indicator if the aircraft has retractable gear, seat belts/shoulder harnesses, manifold pressure gauge for each altitude engine, red or white anti-collision light(s), temperature gauge for each liquid-cooled engine, and an ELT. There are a few extra's for night flights as well.

What is the highest altitude Class G airspace will be found?
    14,499'. All the airspace at/above 14,500' to FL180 will be Class E.

What is an isogonic line?
    A line showing identical magnetic variation.. These lines, depicted on sectional charts as large dashed magenta lines running north/south, show where magnetic variation (declination) between true north and magnetic north are off by half-degree increments. The line in which true north and magnetic north coincide is called the Agonic Line.

What is the maximum indicated airspeed allowed for operation within 4 nautical miles and 2,500' AGL from an airport surrounded by Class D airspace?
    200 KIAS. 250 KIAS is the speed limit for operations below 10,000' and flights within Class B airspace. For flights within 4 nm and 2,500' AGL of Class C and Class D airports, 200 KIAS is tops, as well as when operating under the shelves of Class B airspace. These, of course, can be forgotten if the minimum safe speed of your aircraft is higher than these limits

Let's say you decide to depart out of your local tower-controlled (Class D) airport. The weather isn't perfect...in fact it's downright grim. To spite the odds, you still decide to go. Tower indicates that a special VFR departure is available. What conditions must be met?
    1 sm visibility; clear of clouds. In addition, you must be cleared for special VFR by the control tower, and must maintain the 1 sm visibility and clear of clouds until clear of the airspace. Plus, if the flight is conducted at night you must be instrument rated, and the aircraft must be certified for IFR flight as well.

    FSS Briefer. Only Flight Service Stations have the most current record of Notices to Airmen and TFR's, as well as a wealth of other information pertinent to pilots for every flight!
