    wasp. Some types of wasps are known as social wasps. They live together in colonies in a nest that is built out of a kind of paper. Although people do not like wasps they do do a lot of good as they control insect pests.

    locust. A locust belongs to the grasshopper family. Locusts often travel together in large numbers known as swarms. They can do a lot of damage when they eat crops and other vegetation.

Timothy holds night flying insect.
    moth. Moths are nocturnal insects, that is they usually fly at night. Most moths are shades of brown and have a feathery appearance.

    aphid. Aphids can do a lot of damage to the leaves and stems of plants.

    bee. There are several different kinds of bee. The best known is the honey bee. Apart from providing honey and beeswax, bees are useful in the pollination of plants.

    earwig. Earwigs are harmless insects that feed on fruit and flowers. You often find them in peaches.

    flea. Fleas are wingless insects that like to suck blood. They live on cats and dogs as well as other creatures. They have strong legs which help them make large leaps.

    hornet. A hornet is a large stinging wasp.

    fly. There are many types of fly. The best known is the house fly, which can spread diseases.

Can toad be a large type of this insect?
    ant. Ants usually live in colonies. Some of these colonies can be made up of over half a million ants.
