1921 & 1951. In the original version of the rock opera "Tommy", Captain Walker returns home from the war in 1921. When he discovers that his wife has new lover, he kills the lover. His son, Tommy, witnesses the ordeal and the trauma makes him deaf, dumb and blind.
In the film version of Tommy directed by Ken Russell, the year is 1951 and the lover kills Captain Walker.
