Devils in Movies
"Peanut has been busy acting in a number of movies, but some have been more fun than others. In fact, some of them have been devilishly entertaining. Let's see what she's been up to!"

"You simply must go see "The Devil's Advocate"," Peanut says to her landlady. "It was so much fun being in that 1997 movie! I was only in a couple of scenes, playing a juror, but Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino - who was actually the Devil - were just magnificent. And, Keanu's wife was terrific. It's odd, though, I'm drawing a blank on her name. Do you know which actress played that role?"
"I was in the spookiest movie once," Peanut says to her friend, Liz. "It was 1968, and the title was "Rosemary's Baby". It was a real thrill working with Mia Farrow and John Cassavetes - and Ruth Gordon was downright scary! But, I can't remember the name of the director. Can you?"
Peanut hands a photo album to her friend Suzi, and says, "These are all from the movie I was in with Tom Cruise. It's a fantasy adventure titled "Legend", and it also starred Mia Sara, David Bennent, Alice Playten, Cork Hubbert and Billy Barty. And while I was thrilled to meet Tom Cruise, the Devil thrilled me even more! Do you know who played him?"
Robert Downey, Jr.
"I was actually scared," Peanut confesses to her neighbor. "I was in a movie titled "Constantine", and Keanu Reeves played the hero. The movie also starred Tilda Swinton, Shia LaBeouf, and Rachel Weisz as twins, but it was the man playing the Devil who scared me. Can you guess who he was?"
"I was in a horror movie back in 1987," Peanut tells her buddy Al. "It was titled "Prince of Darkness", and it starred Donald Pleasence, Victor Wong, Lisa Blount, and some green liquid as the essence of Satan. I was one of the possessed street people, and so was Alice Cooper! They were all great, but it was the director who really scared me. Do you know who that was?"
Gus Van Sant
"Movies about the Devil scare me," Peanut says to her friend, Veronica. "But, I had a bit part in one in 1999. It was directed by Roman Polanski, and it starred Johnny Depp, Lena Olin and Frank Langella. Johnny Depp played a rare book dealer, and he was hired to authenticate a book that could supposedly summon the Devil. Do you know the name of this movie?"
The Ninth Gate
The Book of Life
The Story of Mankind
The Seventh Seal
"I was in the movie "Crossroads" in 1986, Peanut tells her neighbor. "I was in the crowd at a guitar battle. Eugene Martone had to play a duel against Jack Butler, and he had to win in order to save his soul from the Devil. The Devil, who was nicknamed Scratch, was played by Robert Judd, but do you know who played Eugene?"
"I was on a really tense movie once," Peanut says, handing Lysa a French movie bill. "It was released in 1990, and the title was "Mister Frost". Satan was locked up in a mental institution, and he wanted his doctor to kill him, so he could prove he was superior to modern science. It wasn't a well-known movie, but have you heard of it? Do you know who played Satan?"
"Have you seen "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" yet?" Peanut asks her friend Nora. "I had a part where I actually spoke! Of course I was nervous, because of the other actors, especially Heath Ledger. The movie was released in 2009, and featured a traveling troupe of performers, led by Doctor Parnassus, who made a bet with the Devil, and won. Can you guess who played the Devil?"
Peanut grins, and hands her friend Ian a movie poster. "I got this for you when I was in that 2007 supernatural film. Look at the bottom, and you'll see it's autographed by Nicolas Cage, Eva Mendes, Sam Elliott and Peter Fonda. Fonda plays Mephistopheles, who is, of course, the Devil himself. I know the poster got a little tattered, but can you read the title?
House of the Devil
