In 2000 I won the European Order of Merit and in 2007 was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Science from the University of Nottingham Trent. My first European Tour title came in 1996 when I won the Volvo Scandinavian Masters, but do you know who I am? Hint

6. My middle name is Iqbal and I was born in 1986, Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. Answer: ( Two words, or just surname)
Question 7 of 10
7. I was born in Sainte-Foy, Canada in 1980 and represented my country in ice hockey and won an Olympic gold medal in Salt Lake City with the Canadian team. Ice hockey was how I made my living and I was drafted 22nd overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in 1998. During the 2008 season I had a number of concussions and was forced to miss the vast majority of the season. Do you know however, who I am? A further clue being that I wore number 12 on the Flyers roster. Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. Now I can say with my hand on my heart that I played football like my life depended on it. I was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 1990 as pick seventeen in the first round. The Cowboys were no hopers but I joined a team that would wreak havoc on all offensive and defensive lines, and many could not handle me Michael Irvin and Troy Aikman, so superior were we in the attack we were nicknamed the "Triplets". The no hopers of 1990 went on and won the big one in 1992, 1993 and 1995, that was a great side! In 2002 I left the Cowboys for Arizona, but only one season on I went into retirement. Four years later I won the third season of "Dancing with the Stars" with professional dancer Cheryl Burke. But do you remember me, a man who broke just about every rushing record known? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. I am a former Ukrainian heptathlete, who was exposed and banned in 2003 for doping. Who am I? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. I became a professional snooker player in 1992 and have been called 'The Rocket', 'The Essex Exocet' and 'The Magician'. I was considered by many fans, critics and fellow professionals such as Steve Davis and Stephen Hendry as the most naturally talented player in the history of the game.

I have enjoyed many highs including winning the World Title in 2001, 2004 and 2008 and 147 breaks seemed to come very naturally. I guess with my talent I had a side that was not understood by many and like the former star of snooker Alex Higgins, I found myself courting trouble on a regular basis, but do you know who I am and why I dedicate all my titles to my dad? Ok, well my dad was in prison so had never seen me win my titles, go on, who am I?
Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. My middle name is Fred and I eat roughly 12000 calories a day, I need them, my training regime is brutal but it is worth it due to the fact that, in 2008, I became the 'Golden' boy of the pool?

Answer: Michael Phelps

Standing at 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) and with an arm span of 6 feet 7 inches (2.01 m) it was hardly surprising that Phelps had the physical frame to cope with the demands of trying to win eight Olympic golds. His size 14 feet were a major contribution to his power and he built up his terrific speed with legs that were relatively short which lowered the drag. In Athens 2004 he won six gold medals which added to his Beijing quest saw him leave with an incredible fourteen Olympic titles.

For those who watched the Olympic Games you will recognise the four names used as the US 4x100m relay side that took gold in Beijing.
2. I took up my chosen sport of golf at thirteen when my grandparents bought me a set of clubs. Since those days I have represented Europe at a number of Ryder Cups and won a number of high level tour wins. In 2000 I won the European Order of Merit and in 2007 was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Science from the University of Nottingham Trent. My first European Tour title came in 1996 when I won the Volvo Scandinavian Masters, but do you know who I am?

Answer: Lee Westwood

English professional golfer Lee John Westwood was one of the few players to have won a tournament (although no majors) on every continent. He has been successful on both the PGA and European tours and won the 2000 Order of Merit. One of few players to represent Europe more than five times in the Ryder Cup, Westwood was seen by many as a dangerous customer and one to avoid in Match Play scenarios.
3. Bonjour! I played for Rugby Union side Castres Olympique as a lock forward and captained the French National side during 2008 when Raphael Ibanez retired. But do you know who I am? I hope you do as I scored a try on my International debut in 2000.

Answer: Lionel Nallet

Lionel Nallet was a French Rugby Union player who played for Castres Olympique and CS Bourgoin-Jallieu as a lock. He made his French International debut on 28 May 2000 against Romania in a 67-20 victory, scoring a try. Over the next three years his International appearances were limited and he was left out of the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia.

He played an integral part of the French 2006 Six Nations Championship victory and cemented his place from that moment on. His finest moment came when he was awarded the French captaincy in 2008, following the retirement of Raphael Ibanez.
4. I won the 2008 Olympic women's balance beam gold, the individual all-around silver medal, the 2007 all-around World Championship, and was the 2007 and 2008 U.S. all-around champion. Born in 1992 in the state of Iowa, I am seen by many as a friendly person and always smile whatever the result, but who am I?

Answer: Shawn Johnson

Her flawless performance in the beam competition won her Olympic Gold in the 2008 Beijing games, and she won many fans with her exceptional sporting spirit which was tested a further three times when she was beaten to Gold on three other occasions and had to settle for silver.

She genuinely looked as if she was really enjoying the whole experience and in a world where age plays a huge part as to whether a gymnast can compete, Johnson would certainly not look out of place at another Olympic competition.
5. I signed for Manchester United in 1999 and spent nine trophy laden seasons with them before it was decided for me to move on. After spending time at Manchester City finalising a deal, Arsenal came in for me, I became the first player since Brian Kidd in 1974 to make a transfer from United to the Gunners. I of course felt at home immediately as many of my new team mates were French Internationals just like me, but do you know who I am?

Answer: Mikael Silvestre

Silvestre started his career at French club Rennes before he signed for Internazionale of Milan where he stayed for just one season. Manchester United who were European Champions signed him in 1999 and he spent the next nine seasons winning four Premiership titles, one F.A Cup, one League Cup and he ended his United career in 2008 as a European champion. Playing at either full back or centre half he played nigh on 300 times for United and scoring six Premiership goals.
6. My middle name is Iqbal and I was born in 1986, Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. I have been the holder of the Commonwealth Lightweight title and turned professional in 2004 after winning a silver medal representing Great Britain in the Athens Olympic Games. I am a proud British Muslim, do you know me?

Answer: Amir Khan

Amir was a prolific amateur fighter and after starting out at the age of 11 won many early awards. Three English school titles alongside three junior ABA titles and gold at the 2003 Junior Olympics showed his amazing talents were for real.

It was however, the 2004 Athens Olympics that saw Khan enter the British public's psyche when he won silver in the lightweight division at the tender age of 17. His fast hands and his enormous levels of energy endeared him to all boxing fans and it was rather unfortunate on his part that he had a fight against the highly rated but ageing Mario Kindelan an awesome Cuban amateur.

He entered the professional ranks after the games had ended and to many a little too early, but the style, speed and patriotic flashes of excellence held him to the hearts of British boxing fans for a long time after.

Answer: Simon Gagne

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League introduced Gagne in 1996 with his name being associated to the Beauport Harfangs. The ensuing three seasons saw Gagne score well over 300 points and it was little surprise that he was drafted to the NHL with the Philadelphia Flyers. Over the next nine seasons (including the 2004-05 lockout) Gagne was a regular points scorer for the Flyers and helped them reach numerous play off seasons. The 2006-07 season, however, was a disaster for the Flyers as they recorded their worst ever season and finished last in the NHL. Despite this Gagne still managed to record his second best points total in his career. The Flyers came back in 2007-08 a refreshed and far better side (reaching the Conference finals before losing to Pittsburgh) which sadly lost the services of Gagne due to a number of serious concussions and he played no further part in that season.

Gagne represented Canada in the 2002 winter Olympics in Salt Lake City winning gold, and then two years later helped his country to gold in the world cup of hockey held in Toronto.

Answer: Emmitt Smith

Smith played for both the Dallas Cowboys and the Arizona Cardinals. He won three Super Bowl rings in 1992 (XXVII), 1993 (XXVIII) and 1995 (XXX) with the all conquering Cowboys. His playing record was of the highest order with rushing yards of 18,355 at an average of 4.2 and 164 rushing TDs. He was selected eight times for the Pro Bowl in 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1998, and 1999. Six consecutive All Pro selections 1991-1996 and was the 1993 NFL MVP. He was inducted into the 1990 all decade side and all this followed being named Offensive Rookie of the Year in 1990.

His biggest crowning glory was when he was named Super Bowl XXVIII MVP with his one man destruction of the Buffalo Bills scoring two touchdowns to win it. A record he held dear to him was the first man to rush over 100 yards on 78 occasions, arguably a record he felt would stand the test of time.
9. I am a former Ukrainian heptathlete, who was exposed and banned in 2003 for doping. During the 2008 Olympic games I won a silver medal in the women's heptathlon before I failed both the A and B sample drug tests and ultimately was stripped of my medal, kick out of the long jump and given a life time ban from the sport. Who am I?

Answer: Lyudmila Blonska

Nataliia Dobrynska won the Gold in the heptathlon.
Iryna Lishchynska silver in the women's 1500m.
Tobias won Bronze in the women's 1500m.
All three represented the Ukraine and were all tested clean of drugs.

Blonska competed at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney finishing in a distant 23rd place in her chosen sport of heptathlon. Two years later she improved to thirteenth at the 2002 Athletics Championships but failed a drugs test where she was screened for steroids. A two year ban was meted out and in the time she was away she had a child. When she returned to the sport, her performances improved dramatically finishing fifth at the 2006 European Championships.

Soon after she won the gold medal at the 2006 World Indoor Championships in the pentathlon a change from her normal event.
Blonska had a personal best heptathlon score of 6832 points, national record, which won her a silver medal at the Osaka Athletics championships.

The 2008 Beijing games saw Blonska win silver behind compatriot Nataliia Dobrynska, and behind the smiles and the medal ceremony, Blonska held a sinister secret that would be shown in her next drugs test.

She was tested positive for the anabolic steroid methyl testosterone and had qualified for the long jump final, but the International Olympic Committee decided to throw her out of the Games completely and stripped her of the silver medal she had won. The offence was her second doping offence; therefore, the most high profile drug cheat scandal of the games was ultimately banned from athletics for life.

Answer: Ronnie O'Sullivan

A character and a time bomb; two phrases commonly used when describing Ronnie O'Sullivan. World Snooker Champion and numerous maximum television 147 breaks have shot the 'Rocket' to super stardom in his sport on a level once courted by the great Alex Higgins.

Often courting trouble, Ronnie has walked out of events, insulted and assaulted match referees and has shown a temperament that for many is not needed in snooker, but his talent and his amazing speed at the table has held many an audience captivated. O'Sullivan can rightly be said to be a legend of the sport, though it is debated that the legendary tag was only ever due to either his talent or his contempt for authority.
