Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was special about the day the movie opened on?

Answer: It was supposed to be the final time John Sheridan left Babylon 5.

It had been two years (though not to the day) since the human/Minbari coalition won the Shadow War. John Sheridan had been elected president of the new alliance, and he and his wife were leaving Babylon 5 "for the last time," as they headed off to start the new government on Minbar.

Of course it wasn't the "last time" as he returned to the station multiple times during the story.
2. What was the name of the news station documenting the events early in the special?

Answer: Interstellar News

ISN had long been established as the main human news network in the "Babylon 5" universe. The station had been present in every season of the series, and most of the spin-off movies.

In this story, they had tried to interview Sheridan several times, and he refused to give an interview.
3. What was John Sheridan looking for as the special opened?

Answer: Blue socks

Sheridan was searching his quarters for his "lucky" blue socks. Delenn didn't understand why they were so important to him. He said they were the same pair of socks he wore the day he took over command of Babylon 5, and wanted to wear them the day he left the station as well.
4. What planet was Babylon 5 stationed above?

Answer: Epsilon 3

Epsilon 3 was mentioned several times in the special. The planet was home to several characters all named Zathras, and the "great machine".
The planet had a tachyon field that protected Sheridan from becoming "unstuck" in time. He had been "unstuck" once before in the regular series, and had to stay on Babylon 5 to stabilize himself. He didn't know that though, and left for Minbar, where he was struck by a heavy dose of tachyon energy, causing him to become "unstuck" again.
5. Which character did Sheridan not want to see?

Answer: Zathras

Sheridan was told he had to go to Epsilon 3 to see Zathras, to which he said he didn't want to go. He said that even thinking about Zathras gave him a headache. In the regular "Babylon 5", series it was established that there were nine separate characters named Zathras that lived on the planet. They were all creations of the Great Machine.
It was later revealed that there were now thousands of Zathras clones.
6. Who was in charge of Babylon 5 the first time Sheridan returned to the station?

Answer: Jeffrey Sinclair

All four were commanders of the station at some point in the regular "Babylon 5," series, and three were commanders of the station at some point in this special.

Sinclair was the commander of the station when Sheridan first went back in time to the station. The audience later finds out that he had travelled to a different universe as well, one where the Shadows were winning the war, and Babylon 5 had to be destroyed.
7. What was the "Big Silence"?

Answer: The opposite of the Big Bang.

Zathras explained to Sheridan that "The Big Silence," was happening as each universe he visited tried to merge together. Sheridan was moving through both time and space, and each time he saw a new universe it tried to merge with all of the others he'd seen already. The only way to stop it was to stop Sheridan from going through new universes.
8. What race destroyed Earth's moon in an alternate reality?

Answer: Vorlons

The Vorlons, who were fighting on the side of the human race, decided to destroy the Earth to stop the Shadows from using its resources.

It was easier to destroy the Moon, causing the destruction of the Earth, than to destroy Earth outright. Londo and Ivanova were watching as the Moon was destroyed and the Earth eventually exploded. Sheridan appeared near them, spoke with them briefly, and then was teleported out just as the Earth was destroyed.
9. Did Sheridan ever come into contact with a younger version of himself?

Answer: Yes

In the last jump he made to a new universe, Sheridan met Lennier, who saw him as he was weak. Lennier helped him to the bar and ordered him a water when he collapsed. A short while later, Sheridan woke up in a medical bay as the younger Sheridan walked in.

The two spoke briefly where the older Sheridan told his younger self what was going on. He didn't believe the man he felt was an imposter.

Eventually, the older Sheridan was telepathically scanned and his story was believed.
10. Who came to save Sheridan near the end of the special?

Answer: Delenn

As Sheridan was about to give up, he was told that "love conquers all," and a portal opened up, showing Delenn.

She had been following him through time and space. She then took him back to their original reality.

The perspective, however, stayed on Babylon 5, with the younger Sheridan and his crew, at a point in time that was about the same as the beginning of the original "Babylon 5" series.
