One of the inmates beats him up, expecting to kill him, but another steps in with a hooked blade, killing the other and supporting his 'divine ruler'. Kai anticipates using the weapon to free himself form the prison, but a vision of Charles Manson suggests he tie up the loose ends first.

On the night of October 19, 2016, during the final Presidential debate, Kai watched as Winter and her friends snarkily commented over Clinton and Trump's last talking points, eagerly awaiting the expected result of the first female President of the United States. Kai, however, believed that Clinton would receive no traction, and his argument with one of Winter's friends ended with him striking her. Two weeks later, charges were pressed against Kai and he was told to seek anger management which inadvertently led him to the office of Bebe Babbitt. She would go on to tell him that he was more special than the others, and as she was also a supporter of Donald Trump, she believed he should go into politics and break down the dam of female rage. She had him take to his knees and repeat the mantra of Valerie Solanas' 'S.C.U.M. Manifesto' before her. From then on, he would use his skills, passion, and vision to break the dam to pieces. The truth, she said, would save them all, and he would be remembered for bringing it.

He pays her the money and she leaves, heading to a nearby pawn shop to buy a gun and ammo to kill Andy Warhol. She headed to the set of one of his films the day before and urged him to give her script back. Instead, he told her to be a model or actress instead and claimed he lost the script altogether. So she headed to The Factory, loaded her gun and took the elevator up. She waited and waited until Warhol showed up and then, when he returned to his desk, she shot him.

Kai speaks onstage as gunshots ring out at his city council rally and Ivy, in shock, tries to hide and duck for cover. As she takes shelter behind a fountain, Harrison grabs her and tells her to run. She's too afraid, though, waiting until a team of police officers scan through the crowd and subdue the shooter. It's Ally. She shakily drops the gun and drops to her knees while Kai lays on the stage, unmoving. Some of the shooting was obviously spurred by the night Ally found Meadow in the grave dug in the backyard of the Wilton household. Meadow, attempting to escape, across to Ally's place to bang on the windows and inform her about the cult, and while she couldn't be saved from her attackers, the message came through loud and clear.

As the news continues to build and Beverly Hope reports on the frightening and tragic events in the city's local neighbourhoods, she warns locals to hold onto their safety as the hunt for Meadow Wilton continues. Bob, at the station, tells her to stop creating fake news; she needs to stop scaring viewers, especially since crime rates are actually down. She argues that Serena's death still hasn't hit the airwaves, but Bob doesn't want to sensationalize the event, especially with her parents suing the station. He tries to fire her, but she blackmails him with the info of his and Serena's relationship before leaving.

Kai speaks in front of a crowd in front of city hall while protestors speak out against his horrible policies. The rally ends up resulting in violent protest as Kai chants his message from the microphone. Soon, the protestors are infringing on his rally to the point where one person sprays him in the face with a can of mace after pulling the plug on his speaker system. That night, afraid of what the federal government might do to bring him down, Kai told Winter and Ally to start scrubbing down the ice cream truck used in the early killings to hide evidence. That's when Winter asked Ally for the truth, since Ivy never would have left without saying goodbye.

Ally received a call from Dr. Vincent shortly after Meadow's appearance; Ivy told him that she was acting odd and he decided to call immediately. Inside, with Harrison and Detective Samuels occupied, Ally stole the keys to the garage, finding Meadow and freeing her from her restraints. As Meadow grabbed her purse on the way out though, she knocked over a tray of tools, alerting the men to the escape attempt. Fortunately, with the can of mace in hand, she duo escaped in Ally's car.

Kai's following gathers in his basement and Winter informs them that because there is no poll for city council seats, there's no way to know if Kai is going to get the votes, especially with low voter awareness. Kai knows that as long as they spread enough fear, then a leader shall rise up to secure their grip on the sheep-like populace; he needs that council seat. Kai tells the others that they need to be bolder, and Beverly says they need to get people to see something grandiose, but Bob gets the impression she's compromised as a reporter. Kai's solution is simple; they need to kill Bob in the most satanic way possible and RJ needs to film it. The meeting comes to a close just as Ivy arrives in the basement, late to the festivities.

On election night, another odd occurrence happened at the polling station. After many had already cast their votes, Kai Anderson walked in propping up Gary Longstreet, one of the workers at a local supermarket. Gary, clearly looking unwell and bleeding onto the floor, demanded to be able to place his vote at any cost. He voted for Trump, as did Kai. Emerging from the ballot booth, Gary raised his left arm, showing a bloodied stump and yelling "Welcome to Trump's America!"

The police arrive at the Mayfair-Richards household to take Pedro's body away during the blackout. After Oz is put back to bed, Ivy and Ally speak to Detective Samuels about the event, and he states that it's apparent Ally did what she did in self-defence under Michigan's 'Stand Your Ground' Law. Further, Pedro was still potentially linked to the murder at the butchery. Soon after, Ally and Ivy return to the Butchery on Main to find that protesters have taken to picketing in front of their business. Local news reporter Beverly Hope reports on the recent incidents, likening Ally to what people are calling 'a lesbian George Zimmerman'. Ivy sneaks into the Butchery via the back door as Kai sneaks up on Ally in their car. He promises that he'll do something about the protestors and asserts that she did the right thing by protecting her family.

In 2017, Kai worries about Speedwagon being missing as Ally calms him down and prepares him for his meeting, during which he tells his men that the 'Night of a Thousand Tates', where they planned to kill one thousand pregnant women, would not be possible. The 'Night of a Hundred Tates', however, would be, and Ally has already given the men a list of targets for each of them, pulled from local OBGYN listings and mom-yoga class lists. Kai urges them all to be precise; they need to be precise with their impalements to get their brutal message across. And when this happens, Kai will ride the wave all the way to the White House.

To motivate the men, he decides to tell him the best story yet, setting it on Cielo Drive and recounting the actions of Charles Manson who, along with his followers, killed everyone in and around one of the houses there on one Los Angeles night. Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel, Linda Kasabian, and Charles 'Tex' Watson proceeded to enter the household of director Roman Polanski and violently murder everyone inside.

Winter is a bit more hesitant to attack her brother. Back in October 2015, the two of them were online trolling social justice warriors in the dark web when they received a message from a user named PastorCharles inviting them to Judgment House, a farmhouse near Wixom, Michigan. They went, despite Winter's reservations, and were greeted by a man claiming to be a 'watchman'. This proved to be one of the most frightening and affecting experiences they would have together.

Beverly heads to Kai's house to find men guarding the doors. A number of volunteers have arrived, as it would seem. People are answering the call and coming from far and wide. Beverly suggests that they need to start getting new blood on their hands to spread chaos, but Kai says it's time to sit back for a moment, take a break, and bring the law and order the people sought out. Beverly wants equal power with him, but he plays the trust card. When Beverly brings up Meadow, he lies and says that she was a troubled soul. She is, of course, convinced to head to Room 12 of the local hotel to meet with the mysterious woman.

Ally and Meadow ended up at the Butchery on Main to find the alarm going off, and after shutting off the system, Ally sat down her freed prisoner and told her to talk. Meadow admitted a lot; Ivy had been with them for a while, working on Ally as a project to drive her mad, even being involved in the guinea pig debacle. Meadow also admits that the cult was behind the chemical trucks, only the trucks were filled with water-- not chemicals-- and they killed the birds by poisoning their feeders. All of it was to make sure that the people of the city were more pliable for the takeover. Ally refused to believe that Ivy would join such a thing since she'd never believed in any insane cause, but Meadow assured her, it was all for Kai.

Ally tells Dr. Vincent that she's been having horrible nightmares. The previous night she dreamt that she had marks on her neck and, after scratching them, found that they contained long bugs. She woke up to find that she'd scratched herself raw. Dr. Vincent knows that her fears are deeply rooted in her subconscious, and this could have only been expected. Ally is simply angry with everything because she let everything happen; she misses her son and she regrets being tempted. She confides in her therapist-- Ivy canceled all the credit cards and, as it would seem, must've prepared to leave. She closed down everything so fast. It's not as though there weren't warning signs though-- in September, she had a particularly concerning interaction with Ally that should've clued her in.

Kai first met Harrison at a local fitness club where Harrison worked as a personal trainer. In fact, Kai specifically asked for him because he looked 'strong' saying that, ultimately, his goal is world domination. The day after the election, Kai's workout with Harrison was peppered with discussion about political views, labels, and concern for the future. He talked about the leftist tendency to place people into categories to prop themselves up over others and says that he'd like to move into politics. He also assured Harrison that he would be willing to protect anyone who was a part of his crew at any cost. Later that day, when Harrison was forced to perform a humiliating task at work, he saw what he later recognized as the cult smiley face drawn in steam on a shower window.

Winter apologizes for everything; the election made her lose her mind, she says, and she tried to follow her family, but Kai killed their brother. They need to run away, she asserts, since it's the only way. She found a list on WikiHow of steps to take when leaving a cult. They decide then and there-- they leave without taking their things. Unfortunately, the impulsive plan is put to an immediate halt when there's a loud banging at the door. Kai's men inform the women that the Divine Ruler has requested a meeting, and they all need to go to his compound. The women are brought to the basement of Kai's house and Beverly is brought out to meet them. She goes berserk, immediately attacking Winter for the lies she told her brother about Detective Samuels' death. Kai's men have to split them up and Kai tells them that they all need to stop fighting amongst themselves to be stronger as a whole.

Heading into the locked rooms of Judgment House, Kai and Winter were greeted by people being tortured for their sins, begging to be freed from the house they'd seemingly been trapped in. One woman, strapped into stirrups, begged to be let go; Kai found she was covered in real blood. A man in the next room, hooked up to numerous IVs, was being drugged from the inside out. In the next, a man strapped to a chair begged for help; as soon as Pastor Charles stopped talking, knives would impale him from the back of the chair. Kai sent Winter to go get help while he freed the others from the traps. They captured the 'Pastor', tied him to his own torture device, and did what was right by killing him. Winter admits Kai changed since then, but he's lost his way and they can bring him back to rightness. Winter says she'll go to him because he'll listen to her, and Beverly says that she has a week to change things.

Ally and Ivy rush across to the Wiltons' place and to the backyard to find Oz perfectly alright, though he's with the neighbours in their backyard apiary, handling honeycombs swarming with bees. Harrison assures the parents that their child will come to no harm, but Ally is more than worried about allergies and, of course, the honeycombs due to her trypophobia. Harrison goes on to discuss his interests in the general construction of a hive community; all of the workers can move towards one common goal and achieve it. The Wiltons explain quite frankly why they moved in on leasing the house and invite the Mayfair-Richards in for some Crystal Light Lemonade.

To calm Kai down, Ally shows him the hidden device used to spy on his activities; she informs him that she found it two days ago but kept it secret so as to avoid worrying him. She found it on Speedwagon when he tried to escape after Winter's death. As it turned out, Speedwagon was expected to go to prison for five years for possession of ecstasy pills at a rave. Instead, he cut a deal with the state police to wear a wire and infiltrate Detective Samuels' dirty gang work, and what he found was the cult activity. Ally asked him if his transmission was being relayed, but Speedwagon told the truth, saying he was just wearing a recorder. She stabbed him in the chest. This means that Kai killed his sister and she was innocent; she never intended on giving him up to the cops. Ally tells him to let his sister's death have meaning; he needs to wake the country out of its stupor.

Kai's plan, as it seems, is to send Gary and others to Planned Parenthood to break in and find a master waiting list of women seeking late-term abortions, presumably for political reasons, so that they can kill them and send a message. When Gary breaks into the back door though, Kai's men seal it behind him and he's sent in alone. It doesn't click that he's set up to be the victim until the clowns emerge from the rooms behind him. Kai takes off his mask and says what he needs Gary for now is more vital than any other plan. Gary accepts his fate after Kai tells him his purpose. He's found, massacred and posed in front of the building the next morning.

Kai decides to make them his first subjects for his radical idea, and when he brings a pot of liquid to the table in front of them, he begins by talking about Jim Jones. Ally says that he needs the four of them-- herself, Winter, Ivy, and Beverly-- to bring his cult to the next level. Kai argues that fidelity to the cause is a stronger backbone as he pours their drinks. The Kool-Aid though, isn't just for the women; it's for all of his men as well. They need to kill their physical selves to become greater beings to be more powerful for his senatorial run. He tells them that he will point to whoever must down their drink, and they will go in that order. The first follower he points to bails on it and gets shot by Gary for his opposition to the plan. The next to receive the finger is Beverly, and she downs her drink. So do the other girls. And then so do all of Kai's men, along with himself. That's when he reveals that there was nothing in the Kool-Aid.

Winter heads to Kai to discuss the concerns the women of the cult have and he asks her to sit at the table to perform their pinky promise. He asks if she loves him and will always be honest with him, but she says he makes it hard. He needs to have her in the bigger picture though, and with that he breaks their vow and pulls his pinky away. He says that he loves the family they're going to make because she will be the one to bring their messiah into their world to proliferate their message through the generations. He admits that he will not be incestuous, but he will work through Detective Samuels, the instrument of their union.

As soon as Valerie shot Andy Warhol, her plans were set into motion. Bebe and others amongst her followers donned their scum-coloured cloaks and headed out to a local lover's lane to start their reign. There, they found a couple and murdered them. As Bebe tells her story, Winter is the one to realize that the victims were none other than David Faraday and Betty Lou Jensen, both supposed victims of the Zodiac Killer. It was always Valerie's plan for them to be the Zodiac and start by couple-busting; coupling with men would get women killed.

Kai and his followers reach their destination and prepare for the main event-- they need to kill Bob and chant 'Ave Satanas' on their video to ensure that people get afraid. Dressed as clowns, they sneak into Bob's house and find him in the kitchen. Bob draws a knife from the kitchen knife block to defend himself, but he's overwhelmed. Before he's killed, he informs the killers of the gimp in the attic. Sure enough, when they head upstairs, they find a man suspended from the ceiling by hooks, a mask covering his ears and face. The clowns vote on whether or not they let the man go, but Kai stabs him in the chest, tearing him from his suspension and killing him. Ivy, visibly shaken by the murders, runs to the washroom to vomit and Winter follows her. The others stay behind to finish the job though, with several of the clowns taking their stabs at the anchorman and Beverly dealing the final blow. That evening, Beverly reports on the murder and Bob's death is shown onscreen.

Ally contacts Dr. Vincent regarding the ads and her concerns as of late and he says that he wants to help despite her lack of buffering capabilities. He urges her to get evidence to be able to press charges against the Wiltons. He insists that she come in for an emergency session and asks her to consider an in-patient facility for a couple of weeks. Ally heads to the Butchery on Main specifically to talk to the protestors but they surround her vehicle and don't let her through...until Kai Anderson comes through and insists that enough is enough. Back at home, Ally and Ivy find that Oz has been given a guinea pig despite the household having a no pets rule. Winter insists that it wasn't her gift; it was from the Wiltons across the street and given as a peace offering.

In the house, Meadow explains that she can't stay out in the sun for too long since she was diagnosed with skin cancer a few years back and still gets melanomas in longer times of exposure. While looking around their living room, Ally discovers that they're also big fans of Nicole Kidman, being actual members of the Michigan chapter of her fan club. It's then that they reveal Harrison is also gay, but they've decided to marry and live together for the mutual benefits. Before the Mayfair-Richards duo get into their own lives, Ally suggests that they leave as it's clear she's a bit uncomfortable. Before they head out, they can't help but notice the gory stains where the Changs' blood still marks the front door and main hallway floor.

Ally heads to the grocery store and finds it's ominously quiet. The man at the check-out counter explains it's probably because the President has a speech on television before donning his 'Make America Great Again' cap. As Ally nervously heads down the aisles, she believes she sees clowns in the security mirrors on the ceiling until she finds them-- actually-- in the produce section. As they advance on her, one actually stalking her with a knife, she flees the supermarket, hops into her car, and calls Ivy. She doesn't see the clown in her back seat until it's too late, and she drives her vehicle into a lamppost. Back at home, Ivy tells Ally that the cashier at the supermarket never saw anything; he never saw any clowns, but he heard Ally screaming and throwing bottles of rosé. Ally believes she's being targeted.

The night arrives. Kai has the men assemble their 'kill kits', encouraging them to give themselves up for the cause if need-be. As Kai hands a bowl of Adderall out to his army, Ally and Beverly watch from the sidelines. Ally heads upstairs, telling one of the men she's going to grab some snacks, but instead she heads nervously out the front door, making her way out to some vans across the street occupied by FBI agents. She tells them to act immediately. And so the raid begins. The FBI sends in the smoke grenades and, soon, gunfire rings out. Kai grabs a gun and his soldiers fall, some committing suicide instead of fighting. In the chaos, Beverly grabs a gun as well, firing at Kai's men to save herself. She watches as Kai is brought to the floor. On the way out, Beverly thanks Ally for her encouragement, reminding her just to hang on. Kai is put into the back of a van and he vows to kill Ally someday.
