Stuart and Freddie had both discovered their dear friend Clive had passed away. Both men were under the illusion that Clive had been in love with Freddie. This turned out to be incorrect as it was discovered Clive loved Stuart. During the memorial for Clive, Freddie suggested he read one of Clive's letters to the group. Stuart was less than pleased with this decision to have the note read aloud. Freddie found an unopened letter and read all the content of it out loud. Violet discovered the love letter was addressed to Stuart, not Freddie. The pilot episode "Wake" was first aired on ITV in Britain. The date of the broadcast was April 29th, 2013. The program had very close to 6 million viewers. Mark Ravenhill and Gary Janetti created this wonderfully hilarious comedy. Gary Janetti would later go on to executive produce "The Prince" on HBO Max.

After serving as Bishop for thirty years Brice was accused of fathering a child. To prove his innocence Brice carried hot coals in his cloak and traveled to Rome to be exonerated by the Pope.

She immediately seemed to cause problems between Victoria and Albert from pure jealousy about Victoria.

On the route from the palace to the Duchess of Kent's home, Oxford fired his first shot from a closed carriage. A horseman was wounded although no blood was seen. Albert ordered the way cleared and to drive on. The next thing that happens is Oxford is literally inches away from the Queen. Albert shoves her aside to save her and slaps Oxford with his whip/stick.

He also stated he did Shakespeare for a period of time. In a later episode, it is revealed that Freddie had also done a commercial with Dame Judi Dench. Freddie Thornhill was played wonderfully by Sir Ian McKellen. Due to his age, he had not received as many acting jobs as when he was younger. Sir Ian McKellen has been a highly successful stage and screen actor. He had starred as Gandalf in "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" movies. He had also played Magneto in the "X-Men" movies on several occasions.

Even after the Lady of Kent tells King Canute of Denmark that King Aethelred II, the man responsible for massacring Vikings one year prior at Danelaw, is dead it is decided that the invasion will continue anyway. Originally, the goal of the Vikings getting together to invade England was for revenge and to kill Aethelred II.

However, Harald proposes that Freydis is able to stay alive under the watch of King Canute and Jarl Haakon so long as Leif Eriksson assists the Vikings on their journey to England.

At the same time their settlement known as Danelaw is burned to the ground and the remaining women and children there are also killed. This slaughter took place on November 13, 1002 and it became known as St. Brice's Day massacre. Later, Æthelred II was known by the nickname 'The Unready'.

But in this episode her mathematics was the only thing shown. Prince Albert went to the Royal Society and met with two pioneers of the computing industry Charles Babbage and Ada Lovelace. He was there because he was interested in such subjects, nothing more. Victoria however was jealous thinking Albert had romantic feelings for Lady Lovelace, much how Albert felt about Victoria and Lord Melbourne.
