All of Bret's seven brothers became professional wrestlers, and all his 4 sisters married wrestlers. Bret's siblings are Ross, Smith, Keith, Owen, Allison, Diana, Elizabeth, Bruce, Wayne, Ellie and Dean. Tragically, both Dean and Owen have passed away.

This match, which took place at 'Survivor Series' is now known as the infamous 'Montreal Screwjob'. Bret 'submitted' the title whilst Michaels applied Bret's own finishing move, The Sharpshooter. This proved to be Bret's final match in the WWE before he began working for the WCW.

After Bret left the WWE, Owen wanted to cancel his contract to show unison with Bret. It was Bret who convinced Owen to remain in the WWE, a cruel twist of fate, as it turned out.

Hart lost the title for the final time at 'Summerslam 1992', to 'The British Bulldog' Davey- Boy Smith.

It was deemed that both superstar's feet hit the ground at the same time, thus both winning the Rumble. This meant that both superstars fought Yokozuna for the title at 'Wrestlemania' X. Luger lost his match; Bret, however, re-captured the WWE title, after earlier losing a match to Owen Hart.

Bret was paralysed on the right side of his body, and warned he may never walk again. Thankfully, due to intensive physiotherapy, Bret is now walking again and is back to near-perfect health.

Diana Hart was married to 'The British Bulldog' Davey Boy Smith; Elizabeth was married to Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart, who was Bret's tag team partner in 'The Hart Foundation'. 'The Blue Blazer' was in fact Owen Hart. Owen was, of course, Bret's brother. Jimmy Hart, despite sharing Bret's surname, he is not related to him, although he did manage 'The Hart Foundation' in the 1980s.

Bret played the Genie of the Lamp in this production. Here in the UK we call this a 'pantomime'- a theatre production based on a well-known children's story, such as 'Aladdin'. The 'male' parts are usually played by women, whilst the 'female' parts are played by men (such as 'The Ugly Sisters' in 'Cinderella'.)

Owen Hart used this when he won the 1994 'King of the Ring' tournament. Bret has been known by all the other titles. Bret was undoubtly one of the most gifted wrestlers to ever lace up a pair of wrestling boots, and he is sadly missed in the ring. Bret 'The Hitman' Hart, in my opinion, thoroughly deserved all the credit he received throughout his career, and I wish him the best in his retirement.
