Marion Crane is one of the main characters in the film and book "Psycho". She is originally from Phoenix who steals $40,000 from her employer and flees with it to the Bates Motel in California. It is there where she meets Norman Bates and hears about his mother. Norman stalks Marion throughout "Psycho" until she is dramatically murdered in her shower, in one of the most infamous scenes in cinematic history.

In addition to Janet Leigh, Marion Crane has been portrayed by Anne Heche in the 1998 remake of "Psycho" and by Rihanna on the series "Bates Motel".
