Since primary school, since I was bullied, I wanted to change. I wanted to be cool, and popular, and accepted in high school. I didn't want to be a loner and a loser looking in from the outside at everyone having fun, like my time at primary school. I carefully reinvented myself, from how I looked to how I acted, with a cool, tough "I-don't-care-what-people-think" attitude.

Emily did have lank hair, awful dress sense but now she doesn't! She's had a makeover like me, and she certainly looks great. But her new look doesn't hide the incredibly kind personality underneath.

Sam has been interested in me ever since we met - and he's not shy about admitting it! It was he who I first told about my past, and he said and did the right things, which I was so grateful for!

She is called Cassia, or Cass for short. I don't really think my name, Ginger, could be shortened! Most of the time I have always been just Ginger, though thank goodness I dropped the pick-on-me look, and all.

Mr Hunter is the ideal teacher. His lessons are fun, and interesting. He encourages kids to read, and everyone looks forward to his lessons.

6. What is the type of animal Sam and I often see?

Once I got close enough to touch her. The fox is such a pretty red colour and looks so silky. Sam and I once fed her digestive biscuits - a strange snack for a fox, really.

7. Who is not a character in my story?

Carly and Faye are two girls who used to bully me. They should see me now! Steve is Mr Hunter's first name - but only Shannon and Jas call him. I don't know anyone called Zoe at all.

8. Who is the photographer for the magazine?

Jas is the normal idiot of the class. As he got the job of the photographer for the class magazine, "S'Cool", he is always cropping up taking photos of everyone. He managed to get some funny photographs, like a teacher reading a confiscated magazine at break, a school cook eating fast food etc. Unfortunately, he got some awful photos at Shannon's party.

9. The replacement English teacher at the end of the book is called Mr Rae.

This is true. He is an old fossil with no imagination. We all miss Mr Hunter, maybe even Shannon, even though she caused him leaving.

No, she isn't. I accept her, and I am friendly to her, but she isn't my best friend anymore. Sam and Emily are much better friends to me - they wouldn't try to hurt me the way Shannon did.
