This continues for a few times, until Harry's spell goes incredibly bright and the opening title appears. In the book, Harry does none of this that we are shown. Remember, Under-aged Wizards can't use magic!

In the books, he sends the Firebolt for Christmas and Hermione tells McGonagall about it, because she was worried that Sirius sent it to kill him. In the movie, at the VERY end of the book, he comes into the Great Hall, and everyone's crowded around the Gryffindor table, and Ron tells Harry that Fred and George made him open it (lol) and Hermione holds up one of Buckbeak's feathers.

He sees that it's a Firebolt, and mounts it, and takes off. Then the credits start rolling.

She says "Don't you dare call Hagrid pathetic, you foul - you evil -!" in the books, but she never says, "That felt good." She never does say any of the other sentences in the books.

Harry was in his bed, and he noticed that the name, "Peter Pettigrew" was on the map, walking around on Hogwarts grounds. He gets out of bed, and Peter (as Scabbers) walks right past him. Then, it shows that Severus Snape is coming around the corner, he turns off the light in his wand, Snape orders him to turn out his pockets, he finds the blank Marauder's map, and says, "Reveal!"

Answer: "To keep his abnormally large nose out of other people's business."

All of these were said in the book, but only the correct answer was used in the movie.

Answer: Its just a LOT of silver light, except for the Dementor scene when Harry thinks it was his father.

In the book, when Harry finds out Remus Lupin is being fired, Remus says that he noticed that his Patronus took a somewhat shape of a stag. And in the many Dementor scene, he makes the stag appear automatically. However, in the movie, the ONLY time Harry and the rest of the audience notice a stag is when Harry-about-to-pass-out sees the stag and then looks across the lake and thinks its James. Even when Time-Turner Harry does the Patronus Charm, you don't see a stag.

While it's CLEAR that Hermione has a mad crush on Ron, and Ron the same, I counted that Harry and Hermione grabbed hands three times, while Ron and Hermione only grabbed hands once and she wrapped her arms around Ron's neck and cried into his shoulder. Of course, Hermione also clutched onto Harry during the werewolf chase scene (which was the most adrenaline level scene I saw in the whole movie).

This is one of the things that upset me the most. Only the Hufflepuff match was shown in the movie, to show Harry get attacked by Dementors (which was awesome, BTW), and then be told that his broom was broken. The Ravenclaw and Slytherin matches were not in the movie at all.

I looked desperately for this in the entire movie, but they did not explain this. He just said he knew what the map was, and to prove it, at the end, he said, "Mischief managed!" and handed the map over to Harry. There was no explanation as to who Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, or Prongs were either.

The only thing that they mentioned about this was that after the beginning intro, Harry walks over to Vernon, and says, "I need you to sign this." It was not mentioned that he got any presents at all.

In the book, Harry goes to get ice cream, and then he sees Ron and Hermione. They have their little hellos, and then they catch up. In the movie, Harry comes downstairs and hears Ron and Hermione arguing (as usual) about Crookshanks. Apparently, he attacked Scabbers (go Crookshanks!).

In the books, he just goes to his bed and stares at the pictures. Then Ron and Hermione say an apparently "well rehearsed" speech to not go looking for Sirius. In the movie, after he hears the incredibly cut up conversation between Fudge, McGonagall, and Rosmerta in her office (not in the pub itself), he goes running off and sits on a rock in his Invisibility Cloak and cries. Ron and Hermione run after him, and Hermione pulls off the cloak and he's sniffling. Awww...so vulnerable.
