Answer: Fievel Mousekewitz

Fievel Mousekewitz was the starring animated mouse from the film "An American Tail" (1986). The story of the "American Tail" was written by David Kirschner, Judy Freudberg and Tony Geiss. This heartwarming story is about the Mouskewitz family's immigration into the United States from Russia. They were on a journey to freedom, but poor little Fievel Mouskewitz got lost when he fell overboard and had to float to New York City in a bottle. He encountered many adventures as he made his way to reunite with his family, including dealing with the Mott Street Maulers, a group of very mean and nasty cats. Along his way Fievel made new friends. Together, they all worked and found a way to deal with the cats. When Fievel got caught by the cats, Tiger, an orange cat, took a liking to Fievel and set him free. Fievel raced back to the pier, where the other mice were. When he arrived the other mice released a gigantic mechanical mouse to chase the cats. A battled ensued and poor Fievel ended up separated from his new found friends. He was alone and sad but he eventually heard his Papa's violin playing which led him straight back to his family. A very happy reunion was had by all!

3. Walt Disney portrayed the heartbreak of a forest fire in his 1942 movie "Bambi", and for the following year the animal characters from the movie campaigned for the prevention of forest fires. After the animated characters retired a year later, the National Forest Service chose a bear to portray their mascot. What did they name him?

Answer: Smokey Bear

Smokey was originally depicted wearing jeans and a park ranger hat while he was pouring water on a campfire. In 1947, Smokey was shown with the slogan, "Remember ... only YOU can prevent forest fires." In 1950, in the Lincoln National Forest of New Mexico, an orphaned black bear cub climbed a tree to escape a wildfire and was badly burned on his paws and hind legs. He was rescued by the firefighters and became the living symbol of forest fire prevention. This living Smokey Bear spent the rest of his life in the National Zoo in Washington D.C.

4. "There's a voice that keeps on calling me, down the road, that's where I'll always be. Every stop I make, I make a new friend, can't stay for long, just turn around and I'm gone again". This was the theme tune to which TV programme about a fictional animal?

Answer: The Littlest Hobo

It is, of course, "The Littlest Hobo". For those of you that never saw this programme, it was about a German shepherd dog who was a stray and travelled from place to place, helping those who needed it. He only stayed until his work was done, and then moved onto the next person in need. This was a Canadian programme, and the first series ran from 1963 to 1965. It was brought back for another series from 1979-1985 and this theme tune was from the second series. It was sung by Terry Bush who also co-wrote it. The theme was also used in a TV advert in the UK - for a well known paint brand, co-incidentally also featuring a dog, although this one was an Old English Sheepdog!

5. Tribbles are small, soft, furry creatures that purr soothingly when stroked. They eat, reproduce, and love almost everyone and everything. Which of the following choices do tribbles NOT like?

Answer: Klingons

Tribbles do nothing but eat and reproduce. According to Dr McCoy, they are born pregnant - it saves time. David Gerrold, who wrote the episode "The Trouble with Tribbles" for Star Trek in 1967 originally intended it as an allegory on the ecological effects of an introduced species, with no natural predators, into a closed environment - much like the effects of the introduction of rabbits to Australia. If you look carefully, you might see a tribble purring in a cage in Montgomery Scott's office in the 2009 "Star Trek" film.

He lives in a very unstable house, and always seems to be looking for a certain part of his body that comes unattached frequently. Can you name this gloomy, yet compassionate member of the Hundred Acre Wood?

Answer: Eeyore

Yup, it's our good friend Eeyore. The name Eeyore is supposed to be pronounced like "hee haw", which is the representation of the sound a donkey makes. Some fun facts about Eeyore are: he is much more sarcastic and pessimistic in the actual book as compared to the cartoons; he is made of sawdust; he was created on May 10, 1871, which is the day he celebrates as his birthday. Eeyore frequently loses his tail, and it always has to be pinned back on, kind of a running theme in the series playing on the game "pin the tail on the donkey".

9. This Klingon food is "best eaten while still alive".

Answer: Qagh

All of the above are Klingon words.

Qagh (pronounced 'gakh') was served to Riker, first officer on "The Next Generation" series. He was visiting the Klingons on an exchange program and had practiced eating qagh, Klingon worms, while still on the Enterprise. When he arrived at the Klingon ship, he was served qagh and noticed it was moving. When he mentioned this to the Klingons, he was given the above explanation - that 'qagh is always best served while live'.

A Klingon might not be too happy if you referred to his Targ as food. It is the Klingon equivalent of a dog - a loving house pet, though with a Klingon disposition.
