Xolotl, a dog-headed deity, was responsible for guiding souls to the afterlife in Mictlan. Unlike his brother Quetzalcoatl, he is seen as a negative deity associated with sickness and bad luck. To his credit though, he also guided the sun though the underworld each night!
10. Where would you have found the now extinct Xiphactinus?

Answer: In the ocean

Xiphactinus was a very large bony fish that lived in the late Cretaceous period. It was part of the Actinopterygii Class of fishes and the name is derived from the Greek/Latin name "Sword-ray". Xiphactinus fossils have been found in Kansas and there was a movement in 2010 to designate it as the state fossil rather than the Pteranodon and Tylosaurus.
