The Zambezi has its main source in the Ikelenge District of Zambia, and flows for nearly 1,600 miles to the Indian Ocean in Mozambique. The river marks the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, a distance of 479 miles. The famous Victoria Falls, "discovered" by David Livingstone in 1855, can be found near the town named after the Scottish explorer.
