Answer: June 18, 1812

War was declared by the Americans against the British because the British had blocked off all trade with France in order to weaken France economically in the Napoleonic Wars. The British was also trying to control the entire North America.
2. What does Tecumseh mean in Shawnee?

Answer: Shooting Star

Tecumseh's name meant Shooting Star in Shawnee since the natives saw a shooting star before Tecumseh's birth. Shooting Star meant a short but brilliant life.
3. What rank did Sir Isaac Brock hold when he died?

Answer: Major-General

Brock was a major-general when he died. He died not knowing that he had been made a Knight Companion of the Order of the Bath (KB) by the Prince Regent four days beforehand. Since it took time for a message to travel from Britain to Canada so Brock was unaware. That is why he is referred to as Sir Isaac Brock.

Note. The Order of the Bath was reorganized in 1815 and the rank of Knight Companion was replaced by Knight Commander (KCB) and Knight Grand Cross (GCB).
4. What are the famous words that are traditionally but inaccurately attributed to Brock as he was dying?

It is a myth that when Brock was dying he said, "Push on, brave York volunteers!" to encourage the British troops. But judging from his uniform, experts suggest that he died without speaking since their was a bullet hole right about where Brock's heart would have been.

Sir Isaac Brock and Chief Tecumseh only fought once together - during the siege of Fort Detroit even though it wasn't really a battle since the Americans surrendered without a fight. After the victory at Fort Detroit, Tecumseh went around North America recruiting more Natives, only to learn when he returned, that Brock had died at Queenston.

Tecumseh's Curse is an unexplained phenomenon where every President elected 20 years after William Harrison's (Tecumseh's Greatest Rival) death will die before completing their term even if it means they will die in their second election. One myth has it that Tecumseh's brother the Prophet, predicted the curse and said that when each Great Chief (President) elected 20 years after Harrison will die in office, and when they die, let the people remember Tecumseh and the Native sacrifices. Of all the US presidents elected in a year ending with zero every 20 years since 1840, President Ronald Reagan was the first to avoid that mysterious death before finishing his term.

However, President Ronald Reagan was injured during an assassination attempt and was only saved by the help of modern medical technology.

Charles de Salaberry led the Canadian Voltigeurs to an astounding victory by harassing the Americans. They forced an army two-and-a-half times their own size out of Canadian territory.

The Battle of Burnt Corn was fought between the Creek and the Americans on July 27, 1813. The Creeks were scattered but as soon as the Creeks saw the Americans had dropped their guard to loot their valuables. They regroup and surprised attacked and won.
