1. What company first manufactured the (forerunner to the) famous Lee-Enfield used by the British soldiers in WWII?

Answer: Remington

Remington Arms Co of NY began production of the Lee turnbolt rifle in 1888. Remington needed to get overseas military sales because the US military wasn't buying much at the time. England became interested in the magazine rifle in 1883 and, by 1888, introduced the Lee-Metford rifle, and the first Lee-Enfield appeared in 1895.

The Lee-Enfield used two 5 round stripper clips, it was a bolt-action rifle. It was also manufactured by the Birminghmam Small Arms Company (BSA) and the London Small Arms Company, which had factories in Enfield and Bow (East London).
2. The United States manufactured more sub machine guns in a month than Japan did during the course of the war.

Answer: True

Japan lacked the machinery to make enough firearms, but that didn't affect the morale of the Japanese forces.

Answer: Sheridan

The Sherman was a tank used by US forces, Tiger tanks were used by Germans, the Sheridan was used by US forces in Vietnam. It was airlifted by "Chinook" helicopters.

Enfield M1907 and Springfield M1903 were used as infantry rifles by the US in WWI. The M1903 carried over to WWII as a sniper weapon. The M1A1 Carbine (with folding stock) was used by airborne soldiers because of its ability to fold. John Garand introduced the M1 Garand and it was chosen for the US standard issue.

Answer: Type 53

Samurai swords were used by Japanese officers. The Type 53, Type 11, and Type 99,are all light machine guns, but the Type 53 was used by North Vietnamese forces in the Vietnam war.

The sten was the British SMG, the Bren was the British LMG, the PPSh was the Russian SMG, and the MP40 was the German SMG.
