The Uchiha family was planning a hostile takeover of Konoha. It all started with the first Hokage. Madara and Hashirama fought over the Title of Hokage. When they made Konoha, the promised 50/50 power between the Senju Clan and Uchiha Clan. As time went on, the Senju were controlling more of the village, forcing the Uchiha to a remote corner of the village. Sasuke's father was the one leading the takeover.

The village elders saw Itachi's rapid growth, and basically forced Itachi to destroy his family.

Itachi's left eye controls the Tsukiyomi, the Ultimate Genjutsu, whereas his right eye controls Amaterasu, the Ultimate Ninjustu. When Itachi uses both at once, he unleashes Susano'o. He uses it against Orochimaru's Hydra technique, and defeats him.
