Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. After dwarf assassins attacked Vimes' home and were dealt with by Willikins, one of them was found to have a strange substance around his mouth. What colour was the substance?

Answer: green

Dwarf assassins take a slow-acting poison before going out on missions, and the poison tints their saliva green.
2. Which of the following animals is NOT mentioned as being a part of the "Thud!" version of "Where's My Cow?"?

Answer: donkey

"Where's My Cow?" has been published as a book in its own right.
3. What does Mr John Smith have in abundance that Mrs Doreen Winkings lacks?

Answer: Ws

Doreen Winkings is known to make a very big deal of being undead, even though it is actually her husband, Arthur, who is the vampire.
4. Which of the following is a description of the Low King, given by the deep-downers?

Answer: wishy-washy

The deep-downers also describe Rhys as a "soppy liberal" and one who has "seen the light."
5. Carrot's dwarf name is Kzad-bhat. What is the Morporkian (English) translation?

Answer: Head Banger

Kzad-bhat means Head Banger, and is fitting due to Carrot's size. Copperhead is the mountain where he was raised. Smelter is the title given to him for the duration of the investigation in the mine. Enlightenment is one of the worst things that can happen to a dwarf, and therefore an unlikely choice.
6. The Citizens' Militia has some rather odd members. Who is the Special Constable who works on the Clacks and has a passion for foreign weaponry?

Answer: Andy Hancock

Andy "Two Swords" Hancock, so called for the twin Agatean swords he keeps at his back, once chopped his way through three training dummies in half an hour. Mr Boggis is the President of the Thieves' Guild. Willikins is Vimes' butler and a former member of the Shamlegger Street Rude Boys. Albert Spangler was the name under which Moist Von Lipwig was hanged in "Going Postal".
7. What was the name of the artist responsible for the painting on which the Koom Valley Codex is based?

Answer: Methodia Rascal

"The Battle of Koom Valley" took Methodia Rascal sixteen years to complete and drove him madder than he already was - before he even started the picture he was convinced that he was being chased by a chicken, and at times that he WAS the chicken.
8. In her clacks to the Low King, how does Sally sign her name?

Answer: Aicalas

Vampires, according to Vimes, can't resist thinking nobody will know it's them if they spell their name backwards. I can't help wondering if this is because they can't use mirrors.
9. Which of the following is NOT the name of one of Brick's bad troll friends?

Answer: Big Hammer

Big Hammer is the name of the mixture of troll beer and various metallic salts which prevents (from the troll side) the scuffle in the Cham from becoming a full-on riot.
10. Mr Shine operates his thud club from the basement of which of the following locations?

Answer: Pointer & Pickles

Pointer & Pickles is a gem and mineral store run by Miss Pointer and Miss Pickles, who curiously share the same body. Pseudopolis Yard is City Watch HQ, Yo Rat! is a dwarf restaurant, and The Pink Pussycat Club is where Tawneee works.
