Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "I just adore happy endings, don't you?"

Answer: Liselle

"Well, don't just sit there Kheldar. Go embrace your brother." In "The King of the Murgos", Liselle puts a few things together and realizes that King Urgit of Cthol Murgos and Prince Kheldar of Drasnia are brothers. It seems about 40 years before, Prince Kheldar's father had paid a visit to Rak Goska and become "friendly" with Taur Urgas' wife Tamazin.

Not really suprising if you take into account the almost cumpulsive Drasnian curiosity and the locked doors the Murgos kept their women behind.
2. "No thanks." "The last time I drank that, I lost track of a week."

Answer: Silk

"Demon Lord of Karanda". Vella, the Nadrak woman that belongs to Yarblek, had slipped some othlass, a very potent drink, to the little acrobat Feldegast. She asked Silk if he would like to try some. I guess he'd rather not.
3. "This isn't a philosophical discussion, Silk. Have you been out butchering Honeths?"

Answer: Belgarath

"King of the Murgos". When Silk found out that it was the Honeths that had ordered the murder of Bethra, he decided a little retribution was in order. Silk was very fond of Bethra. It's also not a good idea for people to think they can kill members of the Drasnian intelligence service and get away with it. Butchering is such a nasty term though.

After all, Silk is a professional. He did go out of his way to make the deaths look natural until it was just taking too long. Then things got messy.
4. "Only an idiot tries to fight a war on two fronts, and only a madman tries to fight one on three."

Answer: General Atesca

"Sorceress of Darshiva". Atesca tells Kal Zakath this when 'Zakath is thinking about attacking the Alorns. The Alorn Council had decided on making false pretenses at a treaty with the Murgos to give Garion and the others time to get to the "place which is no more". Zakath might have taken this more seriously if his army hadn't have been spread so thin.
5. "We are all now going directly to the chapel," he announced," and the two of you are going to get married. Now march!"

Answer: Garion

"Guardians of the West". When the Baron of Vo Ebor died, his kinsman, Sir Embrig, went to the castle at once to claim his inheritance. In a night of drunken revelry, he promised the Baron's widow, Nerina, to one of his comrades. When Mandorallen, who had loved Nerina for years, found out about this, he went immediatly to Vo Ebor and took Nerina to Mandor for safety.

Then Lelldorin had to go and get involved, bringing a small army of Austurian bowmen to Mandorallen's aid. Garion, as the "Guardian of the West", was called upon by King Korodullin to come and try to settle the matter.

When he informed Nerina and Mandorallen that they were getting married, they raised all kinds of protests until Garion marched them to the chapel at swordpoint. A very strange happily ever after story, wouldn't you think?
6. "Gold is heavy, most Revered Jaharb, and my hands are quite weak as a result of a recent illness. Might I have one of my servants gather up your most generous payment?

Answer: Sadi

"King of the Murgos". Whether this is truly a display of Sadi's cunning, or just plain greed isn't clear. When Sadi directs Toth to only take what he can hold in his hands, the giant removes about a "half pailful" of the gold coins. This makes the Dagashi chief elder laugh, as he appreciates cunning.
7. "How do I propose to leave this house?" he half shouted at the stunned Emperor. "I'll use this for a key. It works sort of like this."

Answer: Garion

"Demon Lord of Karanda". Kal Zakath had some strange idea that he could keep Garion and the others where he wanted them. He really shouldn't have underestimated the Godslayer. Garion is a very pleasant person until his patience runs out.
8. "Agreements are always subject to renegotiation, Poledra."

Answer: Eriond

"The Seeress of Kell". After the Choice has been made and Eriond is the new god of Angarak, Poledra readies herself to leave Belgarath again. When Belgarath refuses to be without her, Eriond has a way to keep them together. He touches them both with the Orb. Ul intentionally didn't tell Poledra she needn't leave again because Eriond needed to learn when to exercise his will and when to leave things be. Ul apologized to Poledra, but Belgarath still seemed a little irritated with the father of the Gods.

He'll get over it.
9. "The well-being of all is the responsibility of all."

Answer: Poledra

"The Seeress of Kell". Poledra, in the form of a wolf, had warned them of a massive blizzard. So far though, no one knows that it's Poledra. Garion is the first one to conclude that the strange wolf is actually his several times great grandmother, but that's not until later.
10. "It's only logical Garion, when you're starting something-even the future, you almost have to go back to the beginning, don't you?"

Answer: Durnik

"The Seeress of Kell: Epilogue" When Polgara is in labor with the twins, Durnik, Garion and Belgarath walk up a nearby hill to wait. There they come to the conclusion that the future is able to happen now that the Choice has been made. They got the good things, the other side got the bad and everything is continuing as it always should have. I hope you enjoyed this quiz.
