1. Tadakatsu Hatagami fell out with Shuya Nanahara when Shuya left his sports team. Which sports team was this?

Answer: Baseball

Shuya was a member of the baseball team, and a friend of Tadakatsu, but when Shuya left they stopped getting on. Shuya wanted to spend more time on his rock music, so he didn't stay on the team. In the manga version, Shuya leaves after having a blazing row with the coach.

2. Fumiyo Fujiyoshi was the first student in the novel to be killed. True or false?

Answer: False

I always think that Fumiyo was killed before Yoshitoki Kuninobu, but she is actually killed a good few minutes afterwards. Fumiyo's death really convinced the other students that the game was for real, and that Kinpatsu Sakamochi could do whatever he wanted to them.

3. Which of the following was Tadakatsu's issued weapon?

Tadakatsu was one of the students who received a gun in his daypack. Contrary to the manga version, it was Tadakatsu who was issued the gun and Yuichiro who got the baseball bat - the manga version sees them getting the opposite weapons and swapping when they meet.

As Fumiyo is killed so soon into the story, we find out very little about her character or her life. One of the few things we find out is that she was the nurse's assistant.

Fumiyo was killed by Kinpatsu Sakamochi, as opposed to Yoshitoki Kuninobu who was killed by Sakamochi's soldiers. Kinpatsu admits that he shouldn't kill the students, but it is clear that he can get away with it without any serious consequences.

Mitsuko describes Tadakatsu as average looking, but she doesn't say anything about his facial features, other than mentioning his acne. Mitsuko has time to think about how she feels about Tadakatsu and Yuichiro while they are keeping watch over her. She feels much less attatched to Tadakatsu than Yuichiro, because Tadakatsu never trusts her.

7. How does Shuya describe Fumiyo when he is thinking about his classmates?

Shuya thinks of Fumiyo as a kind and caring girl, and mentions this at the same time we find out she was the nurse's aide. Her kind and caring nature fits in well with the fact that she helped the nurse out, and makes the other students all the more shocked when she is killed.

Mitsuko and Tadakatsu get into a fight after she attacks him while pretending she wants to sleep with him. She manages to wound him because he isn't expecting her attacks at first, and then because he is trying to get help from Yuichiro later on.

9. Fumiyo had a crush on Yutaka Seto. True or false?

Answer: False

In the manga version of the story, Yutaka has a crush on Fumiyo, and he and Shinji decide to name their bomb "Fumiyo's Revenge". In the novel, Yutaka has a crush on a different girl. If Fumiyo had a crush on anyone in the class we never get to find out, because she dies so near the beginning.

10. Who did the weapon that killed Tadakatsu belong to?

Answer: Yuichiro

Tadakatsu was killed by Yuichiro's aluminium baseball bat. He was first cut by Mitsuko's razorblade, then injured with her sickle, but she finished him off by beating him repeatedly with Yuichiro's bat.
