Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. At the start of "Cars 2", Finn McMissile sneaked onto an oil rig in search of his colleague Leland Turbo. Which actor provided the voice for Finn McMissile?

Answer: Sir Michael Caine

Sir Michael Caine provided the voice for the British Secret Agent, Finn McMissile. The incorrect options have all played the role of another fictional British Secret Agent, James Bond.

Two of Sir Michael's most famous movie roles were in "The Italian Job" and "Get Carter".
2. Miles Axelrod announced that he was starting the World Grand Prix series that would prove the benefits of the new eco-fuel that he had developed. What was the name of this fuel?

Answer: Allinol

Initially, Lightning McQueen was not going to take part in the World Grand Prix series as, having just won his fourth Piston Cup, he wanted a break. However, the Italian entrant, Francesco Bernoulli, taunted him for not entering. All of a sudden, Mater was on the phone responding to the taunts and McQueen was taking part!
3. Where was the first race of the World Grand Prix series held?

Answer: Towkyo

Many objects and places in "Cars 2" have had their names slightly altered so as to provide a connection to a motoring term. The first race was held in Towkyo (Tokyo). The other three options, South 'Car'ea (South Korea), Came'road' (Cameroon) and 'Engine'sia (Indonesia), I have made up.
4. McMissile was in the same city as the first World Grand Prix race to meet his American contact, Rod 'Torque' Redline, however the bad guys got to him first and Redline was forced to secretly place the information McMissile needed underneath which resident of Radiator Springs?

Answer: Mater

Mater and McQueen were talking to Sir Miles Axelrod, when McQueen noticed a puddle of oil on the floor. He blamed Mater for getting overexcited and sent him to the restroom to freshen up. Whilst he was in there, the bad guys caught up with Rod 'Torque' Redline, who passed his information onto Mater without his knowledge.
5. Emily Mortimer provided the voice for which character in "Cars 2", the trainee spy who was helping Finn McMissile with his mission?

Answer: Holley Shiftwell

Holley Shiftwell's registration plate is HS1201. HS is clearly her initials, with 1201 representing 1 December - Emily Mortimer's birthday.

As the package they were expecting from the American agent was traceable, they saw it moving when Mater left the restroom. Shiftwell therefore met up with Mater to try and arrange the exchange of information. However, Mater thought she was looking for a date.
6. Before the first race, Lightning McQueen spoke to Jeff Gorvette and which other car, who shares the name of which British Formula One racing driver?

Answer: Lewis Hamilton

When "Cars 2" was released in some countries, one of their local motor racing stars replaced the character of Jeff Gorvette. IMDb notes that the Formula One drivers Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel and Vitaly Petrov voiced Gorvette's replacement when the movie was released in Spain, Germany and Russia respectively.
7. During the races, a weapon was fired at some of the participants, which caused their fuel to explode. What was this weapon disguised as?

Answer: A television camera

The bad guys needed a tool that would not be noticed if it was used at competitors in a race. They therefore chose a television camera as it could be pointed at the racers and activated without causing suspicion.
8. Was Lightning McQueen one of the racers the bad guys targeted with the secret weapon?

Answer: Yes

Whilst McQueen was targeted by the bad guys with the weapon, it turned out that McQueen was not actually using the Allinol eco-fuel at the time. Sarge had filled him up with Fillmore's organic fuel instead.
9. What was the name of the London landmark in which the good guys were held hostage?

Answer: Big Bentley

Mater, Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell were tied to the clock mechanism of Big Bentley. Realising the third race was about to get underway, Mater managed to get free so he could warn Lightning about the bad guys.

Big Ben is actually the name of the great bell within St Stephen's Tower.
10. Whilst he was tied up, the bad guys replaced Mater's fuel with Allinol so their weapon could be used on him during the race as well.

Answer: False

Mater wasn't one of the competitors in the World Grand Prix series, so he wouldn't have been on the racetrack to be affected by the TV camera weapons. They did, however know that he would head straight for Lightning McQueen and had therefore put a bomb under his bonnet.
